‘Flash Drive’ to be held soon
THE WEST Jackson Fire
Department is sponsoring a
“Flash Drive” to help home-
owners and renters document
their belongings to be used in
the event of a fire or theft.
Homeowners and renters
are asked to take photos of
their home and its contents
on a digital camera. Then,
they can bring the flash drive
or digital camera to the West
Jackson Fire Department and
firefighters will transfer it to a
CD for free.
The “Flash Drive” event
will be held Thursday and
Friday, April 29-30, from 9
a.m. to 7 p.m., at the fire
department.
Homeowners and renters
should keep the CD in a safe
location for insurance pur
poses.
In the event of a fire or
theft, homeowners and rent
ers can contact their insurance
company for assistance with
reimbursement of the items in
their home.
Insurance companies typi
cally ask for receipts for the
items lost in the claim, how
ever, if homeowners and rent
ers have pictures available to
give their insurance company,
it may help to have the items
replaced in the event that they
do not keep the receipts for
every item in their home.
