‘Grease’ to be presented by EJCHS chorus and drama
‘GREASE’ TO BE PRESENTED
The choral and drama students of East Jackson County Comprehensive High
School will stage four performances of “Grease” Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
The curtain will rise at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday and at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for seniors and students with school ID.

The cast will include 37
students. The lead characters
are Withrow and Leissner,
who share the role of Sandy
Dumbrowski; and Peek, cast
as Danny Zuko.

Out Program at Jackson
County Comprehensive
High School.
The Mother’s Morning
Out Program is part of
three high school class
es, Introduction to Early
Childhood Education,
Health, Safety and
Nutrition for Early
Childhood Education
and Human Growth and
Development. Students
will operate the Mother’s
Morning Out Program at
JCCHS as part of their
class work.
During the school year,
there will be two ses
sions. Mother’s Morning
Out meets on Tuesdays,

Mother’s Morning Out Program at Jackson County
Comprehensive High School.
Wednesdays and The first session will
Thursdays. begin on Wednesday,
September 8, (due to
the Labor Day Holiday)
and end on Thursday,
December 9. The sec
ond session will begin on
Tuesday, February 8,2011,
and ends on Thursday,
May 12, 2011.
The cost is $150 per ses
sion. Children should be 3
by Sept. 1, 2010 and must
be potty trained.
The program is limited
to 12 children, ages 3 and
4. Spaces are still avail
able. Applications are
accepted on a first-come,
first-served basis.

JES kindergarten registration scheduled on May 6
JEFFERSON Elementary
School will hold its reg
istration for all upcoming
kindergarteners for the
2010-2011 school year on
Thursday, May 6, from 9
a.m. to 6 p.m., at the media
center.
A screening will be done
on all students at the time of
registration.
In addition to the child,
parents and/or guardians
will need to provide the fol
lowing: Birth certificate,
immunization record; Social
Security number; and proof
of residency.

JCCHS bands present concert
THE JACKSON County
Comprehensive High
School band program will
present a spring concert on
Monday, May 10, at 7:30
p.m. in the J.L. McMullan
Auditorium.
The JCCHS Concert
Band, Symphonic Band,
Wind Ensemble, and
Percussion Ensemble will
perform a variety of musi
cal selections including
marches, overtures, solo
features, patriotic songs,
and contemporary wind
band literature.
Admission to the concert
is free and the public is
invited to attend.
WJPS to hold yard sale May 8
WEST JACKSON Primary
School will hold a yard sale
on Saturday, May 8, from
7 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the
school.
Parents or communi
ty members may drop off
donated items at the school.
and are welcomed to shop at
the yard sale.
All proceeds will benefit
the purchase of supplies for
the 2010-2011 school year.

JCCHS volleyball team
plans yard sale on Saturday
THE JACKSON County
Comprehensive High
School volleyball team
is having a yard sale on
Saturday, May 8 from 7
a.m. to 2 p.m. at the bus
loading zone at the school.
All proceeds will go
to the JCCHS Volleyball
Booster Club. The event
will not be cancelled due
to rain.
Sixty JCCHS band students
perform in national festival
SIXTY band students
from Jackson County
Comprehensive High School
performed recently in Solo/
Ensemble Performance
Evaluation.
Students performed solos,
duets, trios, quartets, and
large ensembles for a judge.
Each performance was eval
uated according to standards
set by the Music Educators
National Conference.
JCCHS students per
formed in 43 events with 29
being rated “superior,” 12
being rated “excellent,” and
two being rated “good.”
