Carner honored at Agnes Scott College

academic year at Agnes Scott
College, Decatur.
She is the daughter of

Carner.
The Bevier Scholars
Award includes a paid sum
mer internship at the Centers
for Disease Control and
Prevention (CDC), as well as
summer housing on campus.
The award, part of Agnes
Scott College’s new public
health initiative was funded
by Pamela J. Bevier ‘61.

trails, place them in the truck or car and bring them to the the Jackson County Transfer Station to
have them shredded. Items people may want to bring include bank information, cancelled or blank
checks, credit card offers/information, financial statements, personal bills, income tax records,
insurance coverage, investment information, legal papers and medical records.

PUBLIC NOTICE
DESTRUCTION OF RECORDS
OF DISABLED STUDENTS
The Jackson County School System, Department of Special
Education, announces its intention to destroy specific data.
Records will be destroyed that were collected, maintained, or
used in provision of a free appropriate public education for
disabled students in Jackson County Schools. This notice is in
compliance with the system's comprehensive plan for special
education required by IDEA 2007.
Records on students who enrolled in a special education
program for the disabled and whose birthdays are between 06/
02/84 and 06/01/85 are no longer needed for educational
purposes. These records may be needed by the student or
parents for Social Security or other reasons. The system plans
to destroy these records on June 02, 2010, unless there has
been a request for a due process hearing, under IDEA 2007 or
a complaint filed with the Office of Civil Rights.
If you, as the student or parents of the student, desire copies
of these records prior to destruction, contact the office of
Special Education at (706) 367-5151. You will be required to
produce identification or provide verification data.
WJMS AT LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE
West Jackson Middle School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) mem
bers attended the 2010 Georgia FBLA Middle Level State Leadership Conference
in Macon on March 5. Chelsea Doster won ninth place in FBLA concepts; Ashley
Konarski, Peyton Fisher, and Jessie Stapler won ninth place in computer slide
show presentation; and Dylan Thomas won ninth place in web page design. The
chapter received eighth place in Local Chapter Activities Report and achieved Gold
Level Status for Chapter of the Year. The following members are pictured: (top row,
