HONORED FOR SHOWING PATIENCE
Jefferson Elementary School’s character education word of the month for May was
patience. Each classroom selected a student to attend the Dragon Diner for show
ing patience at school and they were treated to pizza and dessert on the stage in the
cafeteria. Parents were also invited to share in the festivities. Those pre-k and kinder
garten students honored included: (L-R, front row) Tate Richmond, Izel Padron, Natalie
Wortham and Fernanda Victoria; (middle row) Johanna Santibanez, Brittany Allen,
Azure Jordan, Tess Holloway and Grade Holman; and (back row) Alexandra Salas,
Lucy Slaby, Maddie Smith, Grayson Riggott, Mary Elizabeth Rylee and Ryan Gause.

Those first and second grade students honored for showing patience in May at

The 2009-2010 Little Lit Blitz and Lit Blitz teams
from Maysville Elementary School concluded their
season with a final competition and awards cer
emony last month. The book club is made of up
second through fifth graders who read and com
pete answering questions and vocabulary about
the books to earn points throughout the school
year.
BOOK CLUB WINNERS AT MES

Maysville Elementary School concluded their season
with a final competition and awards ceremony last
month. The book club is made of up second through
fifth graders who read and compete answering ques
tions and vocabulary about the books to earn points
throughout the school year. This year’s top point win
ners were fifth graders Carlie Howington and Madison
Rutherford (not pictured) and third grader Logan Butler.

Jackson County Board of Commissioners
The Jackson County Board of
Commissioners will hold a public hearing at
6:00 p.m. on Monday, June 21, 2010, at the
Jackson County Courthouse at 5000 Jackson
Parkway, Jefferson, Georgia, to consider the
following matter:
1. Finch’s Landing Subdivision is requesting
the creation of a Special Tax District for
Street Lighting to provide a mechanism for
the property owners of the subdivision to
pay for the existing street lights within the
subdivision. (Tax Map 083D Parcels 001 to
192)
Applications, maps and public hearing
procedures are available for review in the
Planning Division Office, of the Department of
Public Development during regular office
hours.
