Paradise A.M.E. Church,
St. Paul Baptist Church and
Sardis Presbyterian Church,
along with other churches,
have organized a committee
to collect donations for the
Rev. W. D. and Martha Cash
memorial monument. This
committee will erect a memo
rial monument at the Paradise
A.M.E. Church memorial gar
den, located on Lawrenceville
Street in Jefferson. The Cashes
taught several generations
of young people during their
lifetime at the old Jefferson
City school for black chil
dren. The school was located
on the memorial garden site.
Memorial bricks are available
to purchase for $25 per brick.
Up to three lines of informa
tion may be put on a brick.

to W. D. and Martha Cash

Commerce First United
Methodist Church has a
group of ladies putting togeth
er care packages for women
who are serving the U.S. in
Afghanistan. The women are
gathering as many “female
necessities” as possible,
including deodorants, femi
nine hygiene products, nail
polish, body powder and
more. Spray cans and liquid
nail polish remover cannot be
sent. Anyone wanting to help
may bring items to the church
office or contact the church
office for more information.

for pre-school aged children
through teenaged children
and will be filled with activi
ties, games and Bible story.

weeklong community project
