Commerce First United
Methodist Church will hold a
study concerning a book titled
“The Shack” and its message
about grieving, God's works in
people’s lives and forgiveness.
In 2007 the book was authored
and published by William
P. Young. It is a fictional
ized story about a bereaved
man’s encounter with God the
Father, God the Son, and God
the Holy Spirit. David Bowen,
the church pastor, will lead the
study. The sessions will be on
Wednesdays in July starting at
7 p.m. and will be held at the
church. There is no charge for
the study but everyone must
have a copy of the book and
have already read the entire
book. The study is open to

First Baptist Church,
Jefferson, located at 246

through Wednesday, July 12
- 14. A small meal will be
served from 6 - 6:30 p.m.

7:30 p.m. The program is said
to be of “beloved songs and
delightful patter.” The group
has also planned a retreat in
Toccoa October 27 - 29.
