Back to school events scheduled at EJCHS
SEVERAL BACK to school
events are coming up at East
Jackson Comprehensive High
School. The schedule is as fol
lows:
•Registration will begin
on Monday. July 26. For an
appointment, call 706-336-
8900. The following will be
needed to register: Official
transcript (including testing
documentation. EOCT and
GHSGT); IEP documents, if
applicable; official withdrawal
from previous school attended;
proof of residency; birth certi
fication; Social Security card;
immunization records; and
guardianship papers, if appli
cable.
•Supply packets will be avail
able for purchase at the front
office starting Monday, July 26.
The cost is $20-$45, cash only.
•Open house will be held
from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday,
Aug. 3.
•Ninth grade orientation will
be held at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday,
Aug. 3.
•Eagle Prep Day will be held
at East Jackson Comprehensive
High School on Wednesday,
Aug. 4, from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
All ninth graders are encour
aged to attend. Buses will ran.
Open house, registration planned at Jefferson Middle School
JEFFERSON MIDDLE
School will be holding open
house/registration on Friday.
July 30, from 2 to 5 p.m.
During registration, parents
and students will complete the
necessary documentation for
the 2010-2011 school year,
receive their schedule, meet
their teachers, and obtain other
important information about
Jefferson Middle School. All
registration materials can be
accessed on the Jefferson
Middle School website at jef-
fcityschools.org. Parents may
complete all documents prior to
open house to help expedite the
registration process.
All students returning to
Jefferson City Schools will
report to their grade level halls
upon arrival. New students
to the Jefferson City School
System should report to the
front office.
An opportunity will be
provided for parents to pur
chase additional items for their
student, such as lockers and
physical education uniforms.
School supplies and Booster
Club memberships will also be
available for purchase.

JMS schedules registration dates for new students
JEFFERSON MIDDLE
School has scheduled regis
tration dates for students new
to the Jefferson City School
System.
New students to JCS who
will be entering grades 6, 7. or
8 may register from 9 - 11:30
a.m. on Friday, July 23.
Students enrolling in Jefferson
Middle School will be required
to provide the following docu
mentation:
•A certified copy of the stu
dent's birth certificate.
•A copy of the student’s offi
cial social security card.
•An updated certificate of
immunization form.
•Proof of residency document
(electric bill, water bill, etc.).
•Withdrawal form and aca
demic records from the last
school attended in a sealed
envelope.
Any student withdrawing
from Jefferson Middle School
should also plan on obtain
ing records during these dates
and times. Parents should call
706-367-2882 if there are ques
tions.

Returning students who
have a change of address

KBMS to hold open house
KINGS BRIDGE Middle
School will hold its open
house on Tuesday. Aug. 3,
from 4-7 p.m.
Returning KBMS students
are invited to visit with their
new teachers and familiarize
themselves with new class
rooms. The school’s “Eagles
First Flight” for upcoming
sixth grade students will be
held at that time.
All rising sixth graders
and their parents are invited
to an ice cream social in the
KBMS cafeteria at 6 p.m.
Students new to the area
may register at the following
times: July 20-22, 9 a.m. to
4 p.m.; July 26-29, 9 a.m. to
4 p.m.; and Aug. 2-4, 9 a.m.
to 2 p.m., at the school.

Health fair planned Aug. 19
THE JEFFERSON
Recreation Department and
the SilverSneakers Fitness
Program is joining forces to
offer a health fair to older
active adults.
SilverSneakers is the
nation's leading exercise pro
gram designed exclusively for
older adults. SilverSneakers
is a comprehensive program
that addresses the physical,
mental and social needs of
Medicare-eligible members.
SilverSneakers is available
as a no-additional cost ben
efit for several Medicare
