Georgia State Patrol lists recent arrest
Medication stolen among incidents reported
THE FOLLOWING arrest
was made in Jackson County
by the Georgia State Patrol
last week:
•Richard Martinez Cantero,
18, 1002 Pinewood Drive,
Walhala, S.C., driving while
unlicensed, speeding and
safety restraint violation.
A NICHOLSON woman
said two men came to her
home on Old Athens Drive
and said they were homeless
and needed money.
The woman said she allowed
them to work on her toilet.
She said that after they left she
discovered prescription medi
cation missing.

Other incidents reported to
the Jackson County Sheriff’s
Office last week included:
•a Lanier Road, Pendergrass,
man said a man he knows has
been coming to his home and
harassing and threatening him.
He said that he had also earlier
caught the man sleeping in his
barn without permission. He
said the man is a friend of his
former girlfriend.
•a Jefferson man said he has
done several jobs for a man
who refused to pay him.
•toolbox and tools taken
from a truck at a Dry Pond
Road, Jefferson, location.
•a Lanier Road, Pendergrass,
man said he and his fiance
drove down their driveway to
get the mail. He said a truck
drove by and a man he knows
was in the passenger seat and
he yelled at him and threat
ened him. He said the truck
stopped and the driver got out
and pointed a rifle at him. The
victim said he told them that
he was going to call 911 and
they left.
•a Cabin Creek Road,
Nicholson, man said someone
kicked down his front door
and stole money and a half of
a bottle of rum.
•a woman said a man stole
her safe from the back of a
truck on Hwy. 441.
•electronic equipment,
clothing and other items taken
from the back of a truck at a
Banks Crossing business.

father-in-law came to her
residence and threatened her
husband.

missing.

Austin Way, Jefferson, address,
where a woman said her bank
contacted her about charges
made on her credit card. The
woman said two charges total
ing $185 were posted to her
account, while about 20 other
transactions were not. Most of
those transactions were made
in locations overseas and in
Texas. The woman cancelled
her credit card and wanted to
speak to an investigator.

a contractor said a man got
upset about a job to replace
tinted glass at a residence.
The contractor told the man
he couldn't complete the job
without taking out an exist
ing window to find a sample.
The man became angry and
the contractor said he’d have
to find another person for the
job. The man called the con
tractor several times and then
came to the contractor's house
to complain. While there, the
man cursed at the contractor
and hit his hand while the
contractor was trying to call
911. The man told a deputy
that the contractor was rude
and uncooperative. The man
said he made several calls
to speak to a supervisor, but
since he was unsatisfied, he
went to the contractor’s house.
The contractor cursed at the
man and tried to hit, according
to the man.
