Nicholson woman chases burglars after husband Mobile home, garage
catches them trying to break into their home
fires reported last week
A NICHOLSON woman
chased burglars down Old
Kings Bridge Road after her
husband found them attempt
ing to break into their Cedar
Drive residence.
The homeowner said he
was sitting in the living room
when he heard someone try
ing to get in the back door.
He said he thought it was his
wife returning home. He got
up and saw two men trying
to get in the door. He said he
yelled at them and they ran
away.
The man said his wife
arrived at that time and he got
in the car with her and they
went to look for the burglars.
They didn't see them and the
man returned home to call
911. The woman continued to
drive around the area looking
for the burglars. A neighbor
told her that the two men
got into a red car driven by a
third person.
The woman said she con
tinued to drive around and
saw a red car matching the
description at the red light in
Nicholson. She followed the
car and a deputy soon spotted
them and joined the chase.
The car was stopped and the
following were arrested:
•Lizzerio Rakim Browner,
19, 736 Ivey Creek Drive,
Nicholson, three counts of
burglary.
•Brandon Alexander
Garrett, 18, 41 Maple Street,
Nicholson, three counts of
burglary.
•Autumn Brooke Wilbanks,
19, 5649 Waterworks Road,
Nicholson, three counts of
party to the crime of bur
glary.
OTHER INCIDENTS
Other incidents reported to
the sheriff's office last week
included:
•riding lawn mower and
weed eater taken from a Red
Oak Road, Maysville, resi
dence.
•four-wheeler and dirt
bike taken from a barn at
a Chandler Bridge Road,
Nicholson, address.
•car stereo taken from a
vehicle at a Commerce Road
location.
•a Commerce man said his
ex-wife is stalking him.
•a woman at a MLK
Avenue, Jefferson, residence
said a man was at her house
and began to attempt to choke
another man. She said she told
him to stop and he refused.
She said she then pointed her
shotgun at him and told him
to leave and he did.
•financial identity fraud
when a Lingerfelt Lane,
Braselton, man said someone
made a charge on his credit
card.
•fraud when a Blue Grass
Drive, Jefferson, man said
money was taken out of his
checking account without his
permission.
•burglary at a Hwy. 53,
Braselton, address, where a
man said a door to a stor
age portion of business was
kicked in. The man said noth
ing was missing but there
was moderate damage to the
door.
•theft by taking at a Bill
Watkins Road, Hoschton,
address, where a man said
someone stole his riding
lawnmower during the night.
•criminal attempt at
a Charlie Cooper Road,
Braselton, address, where a
woman said someone tried
to pry open a rear door of
her residence while was away
from the house during the
daytime. The suspect didn’t
enter the house.
•vehicle fire at an 1-85,
Jefferson, location.
•fraud against a Quail Run,
Hoschton, woman who said
someone was using her debit
card without her permission.
•a Jefferson man reported
seeing his neighbor beating
his wife. An officer went to
the home and the woman had
already left. The man denied
beating his wife. The officer
got a cell phone number for
the woman and called her.
She said her husband pushed
her so she ran from him. She
said he chased her up the
road and grabbed her shirt.
She said she was able to get
away and she left because
she was scared of him. The
neighbor also reported that

jeans from a Banks Crossing
store and ran from the store.
Employees chased him and
noted the description of the
car he left in.

two vehicles at a Hwy. 82
South, Jefferson, address.
•theft by conversion when
a man said a woman he had
managing a rental home he
owns began charging more
rent and keeping the extra
money for herself.
•verbal dispute between a
married couple at a Pinetree
Circle, Maysville, address.
•a Brooks Road,
Pendergrass, man said some
one took 25 gallons of gas
oline out of a dump truck
parked on his property.
•theft and trespassing at a
Mt. Olive Road, Commerce,
address.
•shotgun taken from a
storage shed at a Ridgeway
Church Road location.
•generator and utility trailer
stolen from a Jefferson Road
residence.
•a handgun, GPS and cash
taken from two vehicles
parked at an Old Harden
Orchard Road, Commerce,
location.
•vehicle damaged at a
Hillside Way, Maysville,
address.
•a woman said her vehicle
broke down and she left it on
the side of 1-85. When she
returned the next day, she
said it had been stolen.
•a Lee Lane, Commerce,
man said someone entered his
vehicle while it was parked
outside his home. He said
items were moved around but
nothing was taken.
•a Church Street, Nicholson,
woman said someone put a
bench in her front yard with
out her permission.
•civil dispute between
two men at a Sawdust Trail,
Nicholson, location over the
sale of a car.
•verbal dispute at a Stapler
Bridge Road, Nicholson,
address.
•car radio taken from
a vehicle at a Scott Road,
Athens, location.
•a Yarborough-Ridgeway
Road, Maysville, man said
someone entered his vehicle
while it was parked over
night in his yard. He said it
appeared as if the vehicle had
been driven and some gas
was missing.
•damage to vehicle during
a domestic dispute between a
couple at a Bill Wright Road,
Jefferson, address.
•attempted burglary at a
Hwy. 60, Pendergrass, loca
tion. The door to the garage
had been kicked in. The vic
tim found four young men in
his yard and they quickly left
when he arrived.
•modular home miss
ing from a J.T. Elrod Road
address. A realtor checked
the property on behalf of the
bank, who owns it, and found
the modular home missing.
•forgery against an Athens
woman who said someone
cashed a check that had been
written to her.
•air condition unit taken
from a Hwy. 124, Jefferson,
location.
•a Jackson Trail Road,
Hoschton, man said someone
came to his home and said he
would cut his tires if he did
not pay him the $5 he owes
him. The man said he later
found that three tires on his
vehicle had been cut.
•financial transaction card
fraud against a Bell Wood
Road, Jefferson, woman who
said someone took $400 out
of her checking account.
•financial card fraud against
a Bellwood Road, Jefferson,
woman after her credit cards
were stolen while she was
on vacation in Myrtle Beach,
S.C.
A MOBILE home and
garage were both damaged in
fires during the past week.
On August 7, units from
Plainview, North Jackson
and the Jackson County
Correctional Institute respond
ed to 129 Pinetree Circle,
Maysville, on a reported
residential fire. They found a
singlewide mobile home well
involved with fire. The fire
was extinguished with heavy
damage throughout the struc
ture.
The cause of the fire is under
investigation by the Plainview
Fire Department and the State
Fire Marshall's Office. It was
reported that the residence
was vacant at the time of the
incident. No injuries were
reported.
On August 6, units from
Commerce, Nicholson,
Maysville, and the Jackson
County Cl were dispatched to
464 State St., Commerce on a
reported structure fire. Upon
arrival, units found a detached
garage fully involved with
fire. The structure was used
for storage and was a total
loss. Witnesses stated that a
tree next to the building was
struck by lightning which
ignited the fire. No injuries
were reported.
Eight incidents reported to
Arcade Police Department

by lightning and caught fire.
•dispute and trespassing at
a Carlton Court location.
•attempted shoplifting at an
Athens Street location.
•domestic dispute at a Rock
Forge Lane address.
•disorderly conduct and
creating a hazardous condi
tion at a city business.
•burglary at an Athens
Hwy. location.
•theft at an Azalea Drive
address.
