Andrews, 38, died Tuesday,
August 17, 2010.
A native of Athens, he
was the son of Michael
Andrews and stepmother,
Kathryn, of Ila and the late
Gilda L. Parham. He was
a passionate outdoorsman,
an avid hunter and fisher
man and he loved children,
loved ones stated.
Survivors in addition to
his father and stepmother
include a brother, Robert
L. Parham, Ila; grandmoth
er, Ann Andrews, Social
Circle; aunt, Rita Kyttle,
Blairsville; cousin, Conway
Casper, Athens; and a num
ber of aunts and uncles.

Force.

Cotton, 86, died Sunday,

idence of her daughter fol
lowing an extended illness.
Born in Banks County on
May 14, 1924, she was the
daughter of the late Henry L.
and Minnie Moss Sisk. She
was retired from the Cobb
County School System and
was of the Baptist denomi
nation. She enjoyed read
ing, flower gardening, sew
ing and spending time with
her grandkids. Mrs. Cotton
was preceded in death by
her husband, E.B. Cotton;
a son, Pat Cotton; broth
ers, Mac Sisk, Ted Sisk,
Layman Sisk, Auburn Sisk
and Bill Sisk.
Survivors include daugh

Sid Griffin
WINDER - Sid Griffin,
67, died Saturday, August
21,2010.
A native of Gadsden,
Ala., he was the son of
the late Willie and Alice
Ruth McCoy Griffin. Mr.
Griffin was a
member of the
Winder First —
Presbyterian
Church and was an officer
with The Barrow County
Sheriff’s Department. He
served as the Barrow County
Coroner for 12 years, and
owned and operated WIMO
Radio station for 15 years.
He had been an industri
al engineer working with
NASA during the Apollo
Missions. Mr. Griffin
attended school in Gadsden
and Sneed University in
Albertville, Ala.
Survivors include his wife,
Shelby Griffin, Winder;
children, Joey and Monica
Griffin, Winter Park, Fla.,
Greg and Wanda Davenport,
Monroe, Jenny Ann Cox,
Royston, Jessica Swords,
Winder, Erica English and
Phyllis Hansford, both of
Watkinsville; brother, Mike
Griffin, Boaz, Ala.; and
eight grandchildren.
Funeral services were held
Tuesday, August 24, at The
Winder First Presbyterian
Church with the Rev. Brock
Burnett officiating. Burial
was in Rose Hill Cemetery.

October 8, 1922, she was
the daughter of the late
Oscar Haley and Vira Crowe
Fowler. As a military wife,
she lived many places dur
ing her life. Many of her
years were spent in Norfolk,
Va. with her late husband,
James F. McCombs. She
moved to Knoxville, Tenn.
in November, 2002. She
was a member and attend
ed the West Congregation
of Jehovah’s Witnesses
in Knoxville. She loved
Jehovah God with all her
heart. Mrs. McCombs was
preceded in death by broth
ers, George A. Fowler and
John Willis Fowler; and
infant children, Kenneth,
Kevin and Karen Bost.
Survivors include daugh
ters, Carol McElroy
(Bernie) and Kay Martin, all
of Knoxville, Tenn.; grand
daughters, Kim Bonifacius
(Johnny), Knoxville, Tenn.,

On August 20 Annie’s
earthly life came to a
peaceful end. She will be
deeply missed and never
