she was the daughter of
the late Margaret Daniel.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Myers was preceded
in death by her husband,
Adam Myers.
Survivors include a
son and daughter-in-law,
Tony and Barbara Ewing,
China Grove; sister, Louise
Edwards, Danielsville;
grandchild, Jason Ewing,
China Grove; and a great-
granddaughter, Brittny
Ewing, Statesville.
Funeral services were
held Wednesday, August
11, in Lady’s Funeral Home
Chapel with the Rev. Terry
Deitz officiating. Burial
was in Carolina Memorial
Park.

Jack and Lois Williams
Poulnott. He was a member
of the United Auto Workers
and formerly worked for

er. Mr. Poulnott was pre
ceded in death by his wife,
Peggy Gerrin Poulnott; and
half-brothers, Jack Poulnott
Jr. and Wayne Poulnott.

sons-in-law, Debroah and

was in Barrow Memorial
Gardens.

Luther Russum, 80, died

A native and life
long resident of Madison
County, he was the son of
the late Gertrude Irvin and
Luther Allen Russum. He
was employed with L.H.
Leathers for many years,
was a member of the
National Rifle Association,
and the Friendship Baptist
Church. Mr. Russum was
preceded in death by a
brother, William Russum.
Survivors include his
wife of 58 years, Vivian
L. Russum; a son, Douglas
Russum, Hull; daughter,
Glenda (Thomas) Parten,
Royston; and granddaugh
ter, Kate Russum.
Graveside services were
held Friday, August 20,

Born in Clarke County
on November 14, 1955,
he was the son of the late
Joe William and Mildred
Roberta Alewine Sorrow.
He was of the Holiness
denomination.
Survivors include his
wife, Marie Bales Sorrow,
Colbert; sons, Ronnie
Sorrow Jr., Danielsville,
Clay Chumbler, Colbert,
and John Chumbler, Canon;
daughters, Renee Maddox,
Atlanta, Beth Sorrow,
California, and Tasha
McIntyre, Rabun County;
18 grandchildren; brothers,

William Sorrow, Hull; and
sisters, Cooter Baxter, Ila,

- Maggie I. Vinson, 93,
formerly of Jefferson, died
Monday, August 23, 2010.
Born on December 8,
1916 in White County, she
was the daughter of the
late John Riley and Nora
Palmer Dorsey. She was a
homemaker and a member
of Faith Baptist Church.
Mrs. Vinson and her late
husband, Marion E. Vinson,
were longtime residents of
the Arcade Community.
Survivors include her
son, John Phillip Vinson,
Warner Robins; grandchil
dren, Diana Sedell, Haslett,
Mich., Christine Reed,
Harrah, Okla., and John
Phillip Vinson II, Tampa,
Fla.; great-grandchildren,
April Mayer of U.S. Air

John Wagner
FLOWERY BRANCH
- John Phillip Wagner,
53, died Friday, August
20, 2010, at Northeast
Georgia Medical Center in
Gainesville.
He was the son of Jeanette
Grinde Wagner and the late
Harley Wagner. He was a
man who had a heart as big
as he was. Standing at 6’9”
he was known affectionate
ly as “Big John.” Born in
Muscatine, Iowa, he spent
most of his life in Neenah,
Wis. He graduateD Neenah
High School in 1975 and
won a State Championship
for basketball while there.
He came to us in 1986
residing in Flowery Branch
until his death. Working for
Publix his heart reached far
beyond his co-workers and
deep into the community.
He was a brilliant chef, a
beloved friend to many and
gave more than he took. His
passing leaves our com
munity deeply saddened,
but forever grateful for the
impact he has made.
Survivors in addition to his
mother include a son, Paul
Wagner, Hahira; daughter,
Lydia Wagner, Pittsburg,
Pa.; brother, David
Wagner, Milwaukee, Wis.;
sister, Ann McCormack,
Dahlonega.
Funeral services will be
held Friday, August 27, at
2 p.m., from the chapel
of Memorial Park South
Funeral Home with the
Rev. Michael McCormack
officiating. The family will
receive friends at the funer
al home Thursday, August
26, from 6 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the
family has requested
donations be made to
the Hi-Hope Service
Center, 882 Hi-Hope Rd.,

on November 5, 1932, she
was the daughter of the late
John H. and Ina Watson
Beard. She was a book
keeper and owner and oper
ator of Sam’s Sports Shop
and was of the Methodist
denomination. Mrs. Walls
was preceded in death by
her husband, Walter Thomas
Walls; and a daughter, Mary
Lou Walls.
Survivors include a
daughter, Polly Walls
Penson, Danielsville; sons,
Terry Walls, Danielsville,
and Sam Walls, Lynchburg,
Va.; and numerous special
friends.
Funeral services were
held Thursday, August 19,
from the chapel of Pruitt
Funeral Home with the
Revs. Tim Peek and Billy
Frank Carey officiating.
Burial was in the Jones
Chapel United Methodist
Church Cemetery.
