NEW STUDENT BREAKFAST AT JMS
Jefferson Middle School hosted a new student breakfast to welcome all new stu
dents to the Jefferson City Schools system. Students learned about extracurricu
lar opportunities, student support options, and study skills advice. Those shown

FCCLA CLUB FAIR AT EJMS
Students at East Jackson Middle School had
the opportunity to sign up for FCCLA Club for
the 2010-2011 school year during a school-wide
club fair. FCCLA (Family, Career, Community
Leaders of America) is a Career and Technical
Student Organization sponsored by the Family
and Consumer Sciences Teacher, Abby
Tankersley. This organization promotes per
sonal growth and leadership development with
a focus on family. FCCLA had a turn out with
over 75 students signing up to join. Students
were informed about the organization’s mis
sion, goals, monthly activities, community ser
vice projects, and field trips. Students were also
given FCCLA pins and brochures to encourage
membership.
