Pendergrass garage fire reported
A GARAGE and vehicle
were destroyed in a fire on
Aug. 24 in Pendergrass.
The North Jackson,
Jefferson, West Jackson, and
Jackson County Correctional
Institute fire departments were
dispatched to 286 Mountain
Creek Road on a reported
detached garage fire. Upon
arrival of the first units on
the scene, they found a large
detached garage well involved
with fire with an exposure of
a camper nearby. The garage
was listed as a total loss with
heavy damage to the mobile
home. A vehicle was also
destroyed inside the garage.
No injuries were report
ed and the cause of the
fire is under investigation
by the North Jackson Fire
Department.

MPD investigates incidents
Charges filed in Nicholson fatality
THE MAYSVILLE Police
Department investigated the
following incidents during
the period of Aug. 24 through
Aug. 29:
•stolen tag at a Cemetery
Street, Maysville, residence.
The complainant advised the
responding officer someone
ripped the tag she had just
purchased and put on her
boat off.
•recovery of a stolen hand
gun.
A BOGART man has been
charged with the death of a
woman in a wreck on Aug.
22 in Nicholson.
Herschell Douglas Huff,
68, has been charged with
vehicular homicide, DUI
and failure to maintain a
lane.
Lisa Martin, 45,
Winterville, a front seat
passenger in Huff's vehicle
died from her injuries after
the vehicle overturned.
