life, Mrs. Bruce operated Happy
Hour Child Care in Winder for
a number of years. She was a
member of Northside Presbyterian
Church.

Anne Collier
GAINESVILLE - Anne Moore
Dadisman Collier, 77, died at her
home in Gainesville early Friday
morning, May 12, 2017, following
an extended illness.
A native of Jefferson, Ga.,
Mrs. Collier was the daughter of
the late Howard Dean and Mary
Lou Moore Dadisman. She was
the widow of Paul Thomas Col
lier, retired U.S. Department of
Agriculture attorney who died in
2005. She was valedictorian of
her Jefferson High School class
and a graduate of the University
of Georgia.
Mrs. Collier was a former
teacher and longtime teachers’
aide when her family lived in Dun-
woody and Chamblee. For the past
20 years, she had lived in Gaines
ville, where she was an active
member of First United Methodist
Church. For many years, Mrs. Col
lier devoted a full day each week
to volunteer work at Northeast
Georgia Medical Center. On April
28, she was honored at a hospital
luncheon for having volunteered
2,500 hours.
Anne and Paul Collier were
devoted followers of the Geor
gia Bulldogs, attending football
games in Athens and some out-
of-town games, along with family
members and lifelong friends.
Mrs. Collier loved sharing trav
el experiences with her husband,
daughters and granddaughters. In
the years following Paul Collier’s
death, she enjoyed travel, games
and other activities with a group of
close friends in Gainesville.
Survivors include two daugh
ters, Dianne Collier, Gainesville,
and Beth Collier Beaty (Jeff),
Hiram, Ga.; three granddaughters,
Kelly, Peyton and Jaime Beaty,
Hiram; two brothers, Dean Dadis
man (Fran), West Columbia, S.C.,
and Carrol Dadisman (Mildred),
Tallahassee, Fla.; and nieces,
nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life was held at
Gainesville First United Methodist
Church Monday, May 15.
Memorial contributions may

United Methodist Church “The
Comet Class”, Northeast Georgia
Hospice or Hall County Humane
Society.

Anthony Barcinas Colon, 9,
passed away on Wednesday, May
10, 2017.
He was a third grader at Yargo
Elementary School. Anthony was
an active member of Boy Scout
Troop #721, which included his
love for the outdoors and BB
guns. Anthony’s love for the Unit
ed States was shown through his
patriotism and love for his country.
Anthony had an interest in gaming
and muscle cars.
He was the son of Jesus and
Bonnie Concepcion Colon, Wind
er; brother, Adriano “Ano” Colon;
Winder; grandparents, Joe (Shelly)
Concepcion and Elizabeth Con
cepcion, all of Jacksonville, N.C.;

The funeral service to celebrate
the life of Anthony Colon will
be held on Friday, May 19, at 6
p.m. from the Chapel of Smith
Funeral Home, 755 Atl. Hwy. SE,
Winder, with the Rev. Matt Parker
officiating. The family will receive
friends on Friday from 3 until 6
p.m., three hours prior to the ser
vice, at the funeral home.

Hugh Kirk, 69, passed away on
Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at Pied
mont Athens Regional Medical
Center in Athens.
Mr. Kirk was born on July 10,
1947, in Royston, the son of the
late Charles Leonard Kirk and
Margaret Beard Kirk. He was
an electrical
Baldor and an
Air Force vet-
eran, where he
served during the Vietnam Era.
He attended Ila Baptist Church.
Roger was instrumental in raising
proceeds to benefit cystic fibrosis
through the “Show and Shine” car
show in Helen, Ga. Mr. Kirk was
preceded in death by two sons,
Stacy Chapman Kirk and Phillip
Michael Kirk.
Survivors include his wife,
Karen Hardeman Kirk; daughter,
Tracy (Stan) Strickland, Dan-

Irene Muthe
JEFFERSON - Irene Muthe,
passed away on Friday, April 21,
2017.
She was almost 72 and had been
suffering
from major
health issues
for several
years. Irene
and her hus
band John
were married
almost 45
years. They
met in Phila
delphia, Pa.
They had no
children.
Irene was bom in Braunsch
weig, Germany, three weeks after
the end of World War II in Europe.
Her first years were spent in sev
eral displaced person’s camps in
Germany. She came to the United
States in 1959.
Irene’s father, Averian Dran-
nikow, fought for the CZAR
against communism in WWI. He
was a POW in Germany for five
years, and released three years
after the war ended. Irene’s
mother was German, living in the
Ukraine. In 1943, they escaped
from Russia crossing two combat
lines into Germany. Her father
worked in forced labor until the
end of the war.
Her early education was in Ger
man Schools, and she graduated
from high school in Radnor, Pa.
In her career as an administrative
assistant, she worked at Women’s
Medical College in Philadel
phia, and ended her work career
as administrative assistant to the
President of American National
Bank in Florida in 1990. She then
attended Palm Beach State Col-
lege.
She was an avid reader, writer
and Democrat. Irene at one time
spoke five languages fluently, and
assisted Russian immigrants in
learning English.
Irene and her husband John
moved to Jefferson in 2005.
A Celebration of Life service
will be held at the Unitarian Uni-
versalist Fellowship of Athens at
780 Timothy Road, Athens, on
Saturday, June 3, at 4 p.m.

with a bachelor’s degree. He was
a retired computer programmer
for Lucent Technologies with 30
years of service. He was a found
ing member of Prince of Peace
Catholic Church, youth minister
at Prince of Peace for 17 years,
former president of Amigos for
Christ and a founding member.
A funeral mass was held on Fri
day, May 12, at Prince of Peace in
Flowery Branch with Father Eric
Hill to serve as celebrant. Inter
ment was at Memorial Park South
Mausoleum in Flowery Branch. A
prayer service was held Thursday,
May 11, in the Chapel of Flanigan
Funeral Home.

Jean Wilkinson
Jean Saye Wilkinson, 86, went
to be with her Lord on Friday, May
12, 2017, in Watkinsville, Ga.
She was born on January 13,
1931, in Rodman, S.C., the daugh
ter of James Hodge Saye Sr. and
Jean Hollis Saye.
Jean grew up in Rodman, S.C.,
where she graduated from Lewis
ville High School. She was class
secretary, played on the school
basketball team, and was voted
most talented by her senior class.
After high school, she attended
Winthrop College in Rock Hill,
S.C., where she received an ele
mentary teaching degree. Her first
job was in Sumter, S.C., where she
met the love of her life, Stanley
R. Wilkinson, Sr. They were mar
ried at Fishing Creek Presbyte
rian Church on August 10, 1957,
and remained happily married
for 59 years. Jean was a home
maker while her children were
young, returning to the classroom
as a substitute teacher when they
became teenagers.
Jean was a longtime member
of Young Harris Memorial United
Methodist Church, where she was
active in many areas including her
church circle group and the Older
Gems. Her family has many fond
memories of her piano playing
and she shared this gift when she
played during worship at local
nursing homes. She also had a
love of gardening, and enjoyed
sharing her beautiful flowers with
friends and neighbors. Fourth of
July reunions and annual beach
trips alike were a must because
they involved family. Her life was
devoted to her Lord, her family,
both close and extended, and to
her country. She will always be
remembered for her easy laugh and
the genuine interest she showed in
other people as evidence by her
wonderful listening skills.
Jean was preceded in death by
her parents, James Hodge Saye Sr.
and Jean Hollis Saye; her oldest
brother, Jim Saye; and an older
brother, Joe Saye that died in
World War II.
Survivors include her loving
husband, Stanley Ralph Wilkin
son, Sr., Watkinsville; her chil
dren, Rachael Parr Bedingfield
(Glenn), Stanley Ralph Wilkin
son Jr. (Janice), and Augusta
Wilkinson Bennett (David); sis
ter, Augusta Cook and sister-in-
law Millie Saye. Jean’s grand
children, Robert Parr (Kristen),
Emily Dewsnap (Mike), Charlie
Parr (Angel), Will Bennett, Greg
Wilkinson, Jake Bennett, Lindsay
Wilkinson (Zach) and John Ben
nett (Brittany), meant the world
to her. Roman Allen, her beloved
great-grandchild, brought her
much joy. She also had numer
ous nieces and nephews and other
relatives.
A memorial service was held on
Monday May 15, at Young Har
ris Memorial United Methodist
Church in Athens.
