Dream big; don’t underestimate power of God
Do not underestimate the
power of God. It is alive
and well.
When he wakes us up
every morning,
He wants us
to focus on his
plan for each of
us today. “Lord,
let me be in your
will today. Lord
let me be sensi
tive to your spir
it, and lead me
exactly where
you'd have me
to do, and let
me react in the manner in
which you desire.”
In reality, our little things
are most likely a training
ground for the big plan.
He is taking us to a place
of greater works
for the kingdom.
Still we need to
be faithful for the
now work.
I recently heard
of a man who
started a small
store selling dec
orative home
goods. He said he
just did not under
stand why he
wasn’t called into full-time
ministry like many folks in
his family. He continued to
follow the path that God
provided for him. Later, he
realized he was in full-time
ministry just like we all in
one way or another. His
business began to grow and
prosper and he still is able
to fund God's work. Final
ly, he understood God uses
his talent as a businessper
son to fund God’s business.
The stores are still thriving
today. That is evident by
the way Hobby Lobby con
ducts business and closes
on Sunday.
Maybe we have a desire
to evangelize the nation, but
a mission field is in our
neighborhood, at our work
place, and inside our home.
Let us be faithful with the
ones he has entrusted in
our care at this time, and he
will continue to open up the
doors to fulfill the desires of
our heart.
His ways are not our
ways and his thoughts are
not our thoughts. Trust me.
The grand plan for us is
immeasurably more than
we can even comprehend.
Luke 9:10-17 tells us
that Jesus had ministered to
more than 5,000 people in a
deserted place. As the day
began to wear away, the dis
ciples asked Jesus to send
the multitude away, so they
could go to surrounding
towns for food and lodging.
Jesus said, “You give them
something to eat.” They
looked around and found
no more than five loaves
and two fish.
Let us make this para
ble real in our lives today.
Do not underestimate the
power of God. Jesus told
them to make the people
sit down. He took the meal,
blessed, broke it, and gave it
to the disciples to set before
the multitude. Everybody
ate, with twelve baskets left
over.
My prayer is that God will
reveal the areas in which
he wants us to grow and
prosper beyond our wildest
dreams. Let us remember
when God calls us to it, he
will most definitely make a
way for his grand plan to be
fulfilled in our lives. May
we dream big and never
underestimate the power of
God at work in our lives.
