Woman bites man during dispute
A man was arrested by Jefferson police
officers after a domestic dispute in which a
woman reportedly bit him on the arm.
Michael John Autry, 55, 38 Jameston Dr.,
was charge with simple battery - famiy vio
lence,
A witness said Autry grabbed a woman and
tried to drag her into a house.
He said she ran out into the rain and he did
not want her to get lost or wet because she has
memory problems.
Autry said he did touch her, but he only tried
to talk to her.
The woman said it started earlier in the
afternoon "because of cigarette smoke in the
vehicle.”
The argument continued throughout the
day.
She tried to leave at night and he tried to
stop her.
He grabbed her arm and she said she bit him
to get away.
Autry did have a "fresh looking bruise on
his arm in the shape of a bite mark.”
He said he got the injury at work and picked
the scab, "causing it to bleed.”
The witness said the women appeared to be
actively trying to get away.
BUSINESS DRAWS
NOISE COMPLAINT
A man said a stereo car installation business
produces a "very loud bass.”
The man said the noise “even causes the
windows to vibrate.” The business is a “little
over .24 miles” from his house.
The man said he has talked with a detective,
the business owner and the landlord about the
noise.
He said the landlord does not allow the busi
ness to operate during the morning because
“the loud noise disturbs the businesses next
to it.”
The man said he has been awakened as late
as 11 p.m. by the noise.
ARRESTS
Arrests made by the Jefferson Police
Department include:
•Derrick Lajuris Raiford, 32,1129 Jefferson
Walk Circle, Jefferson, held on warrants for
simple assault and disorderly conduct.
•Edmond Montrear Hendricks, 27, 704
Walton Road, Monroe, held on warrants for
Monroe. He also was cited for speeding.
•Krista Marie Grey, 45, 18 River Mist Cir
cle, held on a Hall County warrant for failure
to appear on a speeding citation.
•Arianna Levigne, 18, 216 Railroad St.,
Apt. No. 6, Jefferson, held on an outstanding
warrant.
•Shelia Louise Gamer, 50, 8337 Highway
53, Lot 15, Braselton, held on an outstanding
warrant.
•Dejarley S. Owens, 30,525 Embassy Walk,
Winder, held on a Jackson County warrant for
failure to appear.
•Sohn Robert Woods, 27, 204 East Lake
Dr., Braselton, held on a warrant for probation
violation.
•Grady Oneal Huff, 27, 312 Riverdale
Road, Toccoa, held on warrants from Jackson
and Madison counties. He also was cited for
possession of less than an ounce of marijuana
and possession of drug-related objects.
•Daniel Meraz, 41, 6212 Neva Ave., Chica
go, speeding and reckless driving.
•Kelvin Lorenzo Moon, 37,480 Northwood
Circle, Athens, held on warrant for failure to
appear. He also was charged with speeding
and driving on a suspended license.
•Travantae K. Flewellen, 25, 113 Westcott
Lane, Albany, driving on a suspended license.
•David Glenn Chapman, 55,1405 Ellington
Court, Bethlehem, held on an outstanding
warrant.
•Robert Melvin Burgess, 56, 231 S. Broad
St., Winder, held on a Barrow County warrant
for probation violation.
OTHER INCIDENTS
Other incidents reported to the JPD recently
include:
•a man said he heard a dispute between a
man and woman on Hog Mountain Road. He
heard the woman say, “Don’t do this” when
the man got out of the vehicle. An officer
stopped the car. Both said they had an argu
ment, and the woman was telling the man not
to get out of the car and walk. He got out of the
care to “keep the situation from escalating.”
•an officer said a car had its interior lights on
in the afternoon along Jefferson Walk Circle.
“It was obvious that someone had recently
walked around the vehicle.” A woman at the
house said nothing appeared to be missing.
Other vehicles in the drive were checked and
were OK.
•a man was asked to leave the Jefferson
library because he was drunk. He left his bicy
cle at the JPD until he sobered up.
•a Ford Expedition was reported blocking
the entrance to the Jefferson Equestrian subdi
vision. No one was in the SUV and its doors
were locked. Attempts to call the registered
owner were unsuccessful.
•a woman said someone had sideswiped her
vehicle on the passenger side. She said it had
been parked at Bentley Assisted Living from
about 3 to 5 p.m.
•a man said people were at his neighbor’s
house on Danielsville Street and were not sup
posed to be there. The house is not occupied
and people have come by and taken items. The
man said he helps keep an eye on the property.
He said a man took a “toy type” dump truck.
He yelled at the man who put the toy down
and walked away.
•a man said his girlfriend stole his harmon
ica, cell phone charger and keys when she
left after they had an argument. He said they
argued after he learned she had “been talking
to several different men behind his back.”
He told her to leave and “she did taking, his
belongings with her.”
•a man said he loaned his sister's push
mower to his son. His son now will not tell
him who has it or where it is. He said the son
told him “the man was not finished with it
yet,” but would not tell him who the man is.
•a woman was cited for suspended registra
tion and no proof of insurance after a traffic
stop. An officer said the tag was checked and
showed the charges. The car’s owner was
riding in the passenger seat and produced an
insurance paper. However, it was canceled in
November, according to the insurance com
pany.
•a woman said a man from Capital One said
someone using her Social Security card and
date of birth had applied for a credit card in
her name. It was to be sent to “a Jefferson” but
with no address. She said she did not apply
for the card.
•a homeless man said he lost his wallet at
work and someone had used his debit card to
make charges in Jefferson, Winder and Com
merce that totaled $683.
•a man was cited for possession of less than
an ounce of marijuana and suspended registra
tion after a traffic stop. An officer stopped him
after checking the tag. He smelled marijuana.
He asked the driver if the drug was anywhere
in the car. The driver "started to say no more.”
But he said marijuana was in the rear passen
ger side. A blue bag with a clear plastic bag
containing about 8 grams of the drug was
found.
•a woman was taken to the hospital to be
treated for drug addiction and to check on her
pregnancy after a dispute in a parking lot. The
woman’s father said she moved in with him
after her boyfriend was jailed. She was crying.
She admitted she had used meth and that she
is pregnant.
•a woman said her nephew started cursing
and refused to leave a family event for Moth
er’s Day. The nephew was gone when officers
arrived. The woman said he was “heavily
intoxicated.” He was taken to her sister's
house where he lives because he was too
drunk to drive. She said he fell on the hood of
a vehicle and busted his nose. The woman, and
others at the scene, also were drunk.
•a man said his wife refused to let him into
their house. The couple is going through a
divorce and he has been staying “elsewhere
as much as he can.” The wife said he has been
staying with his new girlfriend’s house and
she does not want him coming to the house
whenever he wants.
•a woman said she saw a man standing in
her backyard when she let her dogs outside.
She said he crossed the yard after she called
police. He "disappeared” in the darkness
shortly after.
•a woman said she has had "multiple items
moved, damaged and stolen” from her house.
She said the only things she knows are miss
ing are two pairs of ear rings. Her doors are
locked, but she believes someone has a key
and has been burglarizing the house. She
bought a camera and put it in the kitchen. The
next day the batteries had a “greasy liquid” on
them. She said she believed someone entered
the house and damaged the camera.
•a Marietta woman reported her wallet was
lost at the Pendergrass Flea Market. It was a
Louis Vitton, valued at $900. The wallet had
$3,000 in cash, three credit cards, her passport,
her visa, a Social Security card and a Georgia
identification.
•a woman in The Heritage at Jefferson said
her husband and she saw a man and woman
take six to eight bundles of shingles from a
pallet at a construction site in the subdivision.
She said it was across the street from their
house. The couple was driving a Ford Ranger,
with rust and “quite a bit” of body damage. A
truck matching the description was stopped
on Hog Mountain Road, but no shingles were
found in the truck.
•a man said he agreed with another man to
remove a mobile home from his property and
the man could have the trailer. He said the man
