JCSO incidents - Maysville
Woman has conflicting
stories about AC theft
A woman on Pinetree Circle said someone was attempting to
steal her air conditioner.
A deputy found a woman behind the house with a large stick.
She was talking to herself “in a rapid manner.”
When a Jackson County deputy got in front of her and iden
tified himself twice, she began talking about a man trying to
steal her AC.
She said she bargained with him to take her lawnmower
because she needed the AC.
She said he ran into the woods. The deputy did not find any

The woman changed her story, first to three people, then to
six, trying to take her AC.

JCSO incidents - Talmo
Man believes wife tries to provoke TPO violation
A Talmo man believes his wife is try
ing to make him violate her temporary
protection order she has against him.
Officers with the Jackson County
Sheriff’s Office were called to a Martin
Road residence three times last week in
the case.
In the first incident, the man told
officers his wife harasses him by driving
by his house blowing the vehicle horn
and texting him. Officers advised him
to keep the text messages since they
violated a court oder.
She also reportedly pulled into the
driveway and said she wanted to talk
with the man about her relationship,
according to a witness. The man report
edly refused to speak to her, fearing jail
time.
Two days later, officers were called
back for an ongoing dispute and possi
ble violation of a TPO. The wife said the
man lives within the 500-yard minimum
and said she feels threatened and thinks
he watches her.
Officers weren't able to find the man
and suggested the woman contact the
judge who signed the TPO.
The woman called back later in the
week to show them a video of her hus
band driving up her driveway. Officers
weren't able to see who the driver was,
though.
She told officers he had not contacted
her in 30 days, but she sent him several
nude photos.
"I sent the ones that he had been
asking for a long time about,” she said,
claiming she sent the photos to "throw
him off.”
Officers advised her that sending the
photos was not helping her claim of
being “afraid for her safety.” They told
her it was a bad idea to send the mes
sages since she has an active TPO. She
agreed.
Officers then spoke with the man,
who told officers his wife had been
contacting him incessantly. He hadn’t
replied but believes she was trying to get
him to violate the TPO.
The man was living within 500 yards
of the woman, though, which was a
violation of the TPO. He agreed to move
immediately.
Other incidents reported to the JCSO
in Talmo were:
•suspicious person on Old State Road
where a woman saw a flashlight shining
in her backyard. A male resident got out
of bed to look and saw someone running
away from the house. Officers said noth
ing appeared to be tampered with.
•assist the Barrow County Sheriff's
Office on Glenn Abby Lane where the
suspect in a child abduction case had
reportedly been seen. Officers spoke
with the suspect's family members at
the residence. They said they saw him
the previous day, but none knew where
he was. He told one family member
that he was meeting a girl, who he said
was 19 years old. The family member
believed he was going to see the missing
girl. Officers didn’t find the suspect or
missing juvenile at the residence. Both
were later found and the suspect was
later arrested.
