JCSO incidents - Hoschton
Woman says neighbor yelled racial slurs for hours
A Hoschton woman reported her neighbor last week after he
yelled racial slurs in his yard for three hours.
Officers with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office were called
to a Jefferson Avenue residence where a woman said her neigh
bor first sped up and down the road several times. He then went
to his house and allegedly yelled racial slurs for three hours
before the woman called 9-1-1.
He also reportedly yelled, “I’m going to bum y’all out.’’ The
complainant, who is a black woman, said she was afraid the
man was going to bum down one of their outbuildings.
Officers tried to find the suspect, but were unable to find him
at the residence.
CONCESSION STAND VANDALIZED
A Jackson County concession stand was damaged and van
dalized last week.
Officers with the JCSO responded to a Cabin Drive location
where a man reported someone broke the cooler door with a
rock and the main door at the Jackson County Parks and Rec
reation concession stand.
The suspects reportedly trashed the kitchen area and threw
ketchup and coffee creamer “all over the place.’’ They also
vandalized the bathroom.
The complainant suspects several juveniles that ride
four-wheelers in the area may be the offenders.
OTHER INCIDENTS
Other incidents reported to the JCSO in Hoschton were:
•theft by taking on Walnut Ridge Drive where a man believed
movers stole his wallet and phone.
•assist EMS with a possible overdose on Freedom Parkway.
A woman reportedly took an unknown amount of sleeping pills
and began to “act crazy.” She reportedly told her husband she
would kill him with a kitchen knife in his sleep for things he
did in the past, claiming he slept with two 15-year-old girls.
The man said he didn’t know where she was coming up with
that. Officers spoke with the woman, who said she was mad
at her husband. She said she couldn’t tell them what he did or
they would “lock him up,” noting she spoke with the girl her
husband was sleeping with earlier in the day. She eventually
agreed to go to the hospital.
•information on Jacob Drive where a woman told authorities
that she didn’t think the couple inside her residence were her
parents, despite looking just like them. She said she called her
preacher and 9-1-1 after hearing them talking about getting a
gun. She also told deputies she has bipolar disorder. The couple
told officers the woman was “having another episode” and
recently switched medication. A family member planned to
take her to the doctor.
•theft by taking on Cabin Drive where a man took nearly
$30,000 worth of copper cables because “he had bills to pay.”
The owner didn’t want to press charges but wanted the damages
repaired.
•stalking on Hwy. 124 West where a grocery store employee
said a customer asked her deep, personal questions during the
10 times she helped him take his groceries to the car which
he parked in the rear of the parking lot. He also reportedly
found her on Facebook and gave her a birthday sweater and
note reading, “You are awesome, you are wonderful! You’ll
kick butt in Utah.” In one incident, the man allegedly removed
his items from the conveyer belt to move to the woman's
check-out line after she saw him in line and switched. In other
incidents, he reportedly stared her down and when he ran into
her in the parking lot one day, he told her, “I thought we were
all friends here." The grocery store later confirmed it plans to
warn the man of criminal trespassing. The suspect told officers
the woman was overreacting. He said the two had talked on
occasion and he wished her a happy birthday. He said that must
have “did something.” The suspect denied speaking with the
woman after management asked him not to bother her, except
for one occasion when he asked how she was doing. He said
the woman never asked him to stop talking to her. He later told
officers he would find somewhere else to shop.
•improperly parked vehicle on Freedom Parkway where
a tractor-trailer was parked in a subdivision. The driver was
unloading sod and said he would be moving along shortly after.
•assist EMS and mental person on Kiley Drive where a
woman said her father was going to shoot her because her
boyfriend proposed. Officers found the woman, who reportedly
appeared to be under the influence of something. Her family
members said she has mental issues and wasn’t taking her
medication properly. They said she had an imaginary boyfriend.
•assist with a four-vehicle crash on Hwy. 53 at Jackson
Trail Road. A mother, daughter and son were all transported to
Northeast Georgia Medical Center Braselton.
•theft on Hwy. 332 where a man reported someone stole
several items from his residence while he was in the hospital.
Stolen items included his television, groceries, two garbage
cans, a food processor, old boombox, toilet paper, paper towels
and medications. Some of the items were found while officers
were at the residence, but the complainant suspects two family
members may have taken the other items.
•possible assault and medical call on Stoneview Court where
a woman said two people in Barry University shirts attacked her
boyfriend while he was at the store. The boyfriend had also hal
lucinated for several hours, trashing around the house to try to
fight the woman’s late husband (who he said he saw). After the
hallucinations stopped, he laid down on the bed, lost conscious
ness and fell off. When officers woke the man up, he became
belligerent, saying, “I’ll knock you the f**k out, you fat a**
b***h.” He pushed officers and lost consciousness when they
handcuffed him. He continued resisting when the paramedics
arrived and repeatedly went in and out of consciousness. He
later lunged at an officer and had to be restrained. Officers
smelled alcohol on him and he reportedly appeared to be under
the influence of methamphetamine. He was taken to Northeast
Georgia Medical Center Braselton.

day. When asked how much he consumed, he said, “Too many."
The man declined to take field sobriety tests, but said he didn't
believe he was safe to drive.
