The following are volunteer opportunities in Jackson
County and the surrounding area:
•The Jackson County Community Outreach (JCCO)
is a civic-based, 501(c)(3) all volunteer organization,
dedicated to education, support, economic growth and
citizen community involvement. Scholarship programs,
essay contest and annual banquet fundraisers support the
mission of the organization. Contact Jim Scott, president,

•Peace Place: There are various volunteer opportuni
ties with Peace Place Inc. To volunteer at Peace Place,
complete a volunteer packet at the website www.peace-
placeinc.org. Support groups are available in Barrow,
Banks and Jackson counties. For more information about

•Keep Jackson County Beautiful seeks volunteers for
beautification, waterway and area cleanups, litter clean
ups and other projects throughout Jackson County. For

•The Jackson County Senior Citizen’s Center is seeking
volunteers for its meals on wheels programs. For more

•Northridge Medical Auxiliary needs volunteers. For

•Civil Air Patrol: The Civil Air Patrol offers young
adults across the country challenging opportunities in an
awards-based, multi-level program. Leadership training,
technical education, and an opportunity to participate in
aviation-related activities are just a few of the benefits of
CAP memberships. Cadets must be 12-18 years of age
to join. Civil Air Patrols also offers Senior, Chaplin and
Aerospace Education Memberships. For more informa
