Haitian children ’s
choir to sing
at Freedom
Children’s Orphan Choir from
Haiti will be at the Freedom
Church of God at 7:30 p.m. Fri
day.
The church is at 3428 Neese
Commerce Road, Madison
County.
“The choir was born from trag
edy. All but five of these children
lost everything in the earthquake
in 2010. Most of them lost their
complete family that day.
“They found their way to the
home of the Pauls who were
music teachers,” Margie Rich
ards said. “The Pauls never
intended on having an orphanage
but out of necessity LifeSaver
Orphanage was born.
“The Pauls have truly been a
‘Life Saver" for these children.
They are one of the happiest
families we have ever met.”
The funds raised will go to sup
port children in Haiti. Ukraine
and the U.S.

Back-To-School Bookbag Mis
sion and Clothes Closet from 8 to
11 a.m. Saturday in the education
building.
Bookbags filled with basic
school supplies will be given out
to each school-age child, and the
church will require that the child
be present to select a bookbag.
A limited number are avail
able. Only one bag per child will
be distributed.
Gently used clothing, shoes
and accessories also will be avail
able to families free of charge.

Talmo Baptist
to host singing
Talmo Baptist will host the
Jackson County Gospel Singing
Convention from 10 a.m. to 3
p.m. Saturday.
A lunch break will be held
around 12:15-12:30 p.m. and
start back around 1:15-1:30 p.m.
The pastor is Mark Spence.
The president of the singing
convention is Marie Godfrey.

St. Paul plans
men ’s day, revival
The men of St. Paul First Bap
tist Church in Jefferson will sell
BBQ chicken plates from noon
to 4 p.m. Saturday. July 22.
Plates will be $8 each and will
include half a chicken, baked
beans, potato salad, bread, des
sert and a beverage.
Any man at St. Paul First Bap
tist Church will have tickets or
plates can be purchased the day
of the sale.
The chicken sale will kick off
the St. Paul Men’s Day Celebra
tion at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 23.

speaker.
