Living life for God only
way to find contentment
There is grace for you.
There is grace for me.
There is grace to meet our
every need.
Thank God for his
amazing grace.
Ephesians
2:7-8 explains
that we expe
rience this
unmerited favor
because of Jesus
Christ.
“It is by grace
we are saved
through faith: it
is a gift of God.”
This indescrib
able gift doesn't
end on the day
of our salvation, but will
keep us every day of our
lives.
Romans 5:1-2 explains
that we gained access by
faith into this grace in
which we now stand.
As we have experienced
his unconditional love,
let us realize his grace
is available to meet our
every need.
It will also sustain us
when trials and tribula
tions arise in our lives.
John 1:14 tells us that
“He is full of grace.”
So let us be remind
ed that he is the source
no matter what issue may
arise.
One of the greatest
examples of grace comes
when Paul experienced a
thorn in his flesh.
Just like many of us,
when a thorn of life arises,
we immediately ask God
to remove it.
In 2 Corinthians 12:8-10
Paul asked God to remove
the thorn three times to
no avail.
Then God tells him,
“My grace is sufficient for
you, for my power is made
perfect in weakness.”
What powerful words. Let
those words sink in for a
moment.
“I’ve been wrongly
accused.” God’s grace is
sufficient. “My health is
failing.” God’s grace is
sufficient. “I desperately
need a change in my life;
I can’t bear the struggle.”
God’s grace is sufficient.
If you find yourself in
that place or any other
place, look to the Lord.
Don’t continue to analyze
the situation and come up
with a plan to get out; look
to God for his amazing
grace.
Many times
God will move the
mountain in due
time, but Paul’s
situation was dif
ferent.
He would live
with the thorn and
experience God
in an incredible
way. He was able
to stand because
of God’s power.
When Paul was
weak he realized God
would be strong.
In fact, Paul said, “I
delight in weaknesses, in
insults, in hardships, in
persecutions, in difficul
ties.”
Then we read the last
nine words that ring true
in the lives of believers
today.
“For when I am weak,
then I am strong.”
At our weakest
moments we can’t do it.
When we have exhausted
every viable option and
we are worn out. That is
when we rest in the arms
of God.
As Paul says, when we
are weak, that is when
we will see the power of
God work flawlessly in
our lives.
Finally, it is God’s grace
that will lead us home.
Living a life for God is
the only way to experi
ence true contentment in
good times and times of
difficulty.
As John Newton’s pop
ular church hymn, “Amaz
ing Grace.” tells us
“Through many dangers,
toils and snares, I have
already come; ’Tis grace
hath brought me safe thus
far, and grace will lead me
home.”
My prayer is that we
will never forget God’s
amazing grace no matter
where our paths may trod.
