Neighbor allegedly
threatens to shoot
neighbor, dog
A Hoschton man allegedly threatened to shoot his neigh
bor and dog last week.
Jackson County Sheriff’s Office authorities were called to
a Stoneview Drive location for a verbal dispute. The com
plainant said their neighbor confronted her boyfriend after
their dog got loose while they were gone to the store.
The boyfriend said the neighbor told him he would shoot
the dog with a shotgun if it got loose in the neighborhood
again. He also allegedly said he would shoot the dog and the
complainant’s daughter if she walked the dog in the neigh
borhood again.
The deputy noted the boyfriend appeared to be intoxicated
while recalling the events.
They weren’t able to make contact with the neighbor.
PREGNANT WOMAN REPORTS BATTERY
A pregnant woman said her boyfriend assaulted her during
an argument. Deputies were called to a Hwy. 332 location
on reports of cruelty to children and battery-Family Violence
Act.
The complainant said she argued with her boyfriend over
money and she pretended to throw a baby wipe container at
him. When a diaper fell towards him, the man allegedly got
upset and choked the woman before punching and slapping
her face and stomach. She is 22 weeks pregnant.
The man also allegedly pulled her by the hair and the cou
ple argued for several hours. When she said she just wanted
to get her kids and leave, the man allegedly said the only way
she would get away is if he killed her.
He fled when she called 9-1-1.
The woman was transported to the hospital and a family
member got the woman’s children.
OTHER INCIDENTS
Other incidents reported to the JCSO in Hoschton were:
•suspicious person/vehicle on Lena Drive where a woman
said men yelled and cursed while approaching her house. She
didn’t answer and they walked around to the back door to
knock. Officers confronted the man. who claimed they were
selling pine straw.
•information on Jackson Trail Road where a woman told
her daughter she had a vision that the daughter’s husband was
molesting their four-year-old son. The mother was later ada
mant that the child needed to go to The Tree House. Shortly
after, the grandmother reported the molestation to the police.
She said she saw a rash on the couple’s youngest child’s
genitalia. She also said her grandson was afraid of his father
and said he touched his private area. The child also reportedly
showed the grandmother a sexual object and the boy report
edly said, “look at this big d**k mawmaw.’’ He also report
edly curses and the grandmother said their home is nasty and
dog feces is scattered on the floors. She believes her daughter
is choosing the man over the children’s welfare. An investiga
tion will be opened, according to the JCSO report.
•suspicious person on 1-85 North where officers found a
man asleep under the guardrail. He said he didn’t know how
he got into Georgia, claimed he was robbed and hit over the
head and complained of pain. He was taken to the hospital.
•dispute on First Street where a woman said her soon-to-be
ex-husband filmed her and accused her of cheating on him at
a business.
•suspicious vehicle on Hwy. 53 where a car was parked in
a parking lot. Officers believed the vehicle was connected to
a recent burglary but the business where the car was parked
was secure.
BRASELTON
Incidents reported to the JCSO in Braselton were:
•suspicious vehicle/person at the Fields of Walnut Creek
where a woman parked to change clothes, do her makeup and
paint her toenails before meeting with a friend. Officers said
she appeared to scan the wood line, like someone might be
hiding, but she said she was alone.
•theft by taking on Robert Drive where a man suspected
a “doper” stole his chainsaw and pawned it for drug money.
•assist the Georgia State Patrol with a vehicle vs. pedes
trian wreck on Jackson Avenue. The victim was taken to
Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville.
•three reports of loud music on Charlie Cooper Road. The
residents were having a party and eventually agreed to end
the party.

Potential warrant leads to drug charges
A man wanted for an outstanding warrant was charged
with multiple drug offenses after a traffic stop on High
way 129 near Interstate 85.
Christopher Shane Wilson, 33, 35 Adams Place,
Royston, was charged with trafficking of methamphet-
amine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of
a schedule IV narcotic, pills not in original container, no
proof of insurance, operating a vehicle without registra
tion and use of license plate for purpose of concealing.
Wilson was stopped after an officer learned he might
have a warrant for him.
The officer saw the license plate on the Dodge truck
was registered for a Ford Explorer.
Wilson “appeared to be very nervous and shaking.”
Another officer found a grocery bag with an opaque
crystal-like substance in it under the center console.
Schedule IV pills also were found in the driver’s side
floor board.
FIVE CARS ENTERED, ONLY
ONE HAD STOLEN ITEMS
Five cars on Academy Woods Drive were entered July
8, but items were missing from only one.
The first car had a Georgia driver’s license, a personal
credit card, a company credit card and $240 in cash taken.
The incident occurred between 1 and 7 a.m., the owner
said.
The Dodge truck was unlocked and the key was on the
passenger seat. Miscellaneous tools were also in the truck.
While investigating the first call, officers found four
other vehicles, three Jeeps and a Dodge Ram truck, with
the doors standing open.
Owners said nothing appeared to be missing, although
currency was in one and other items of value were in the
others.
One victim said her dog started barking about 4:30 a.m.
She said the suspects may have been on her property.
Another victim said he came home at 2 a.m. and every
thing appeared normal.
HOUSE BROKEN INTO, BUT STORY CHANGES
A man said two men came in his house and pulled him
through the front window to the yard.
He said some clothes and all of the food in the refriger
ator were taken. “But he was unsure,” police said.
The man later changed his story.
He said he was walking home from a friend’s house
about 4 a.m. and found “his stuff thrown all over the front
yard.”
He crawled through the window into the house.
He said he did not know what happened and he may
have been knocked out.
He said when he came through the window, furniture
“was all over the place.” He said he “picked up” before
an officer arrived.
ONE CHARGED, TWO CITED IN TRAFFIC STOP
A Monticello man was arrested and two people were
cited during a traffic stop on Highway 129 bypass.
Kenneth James Harp, 26, 121 Snipe Court, Monticello.
was held on a Butts County warrant for failure to appear.
He also was cited for possession of less than an ounce of
marijuana and possession of a drug-related object.
Officers found a plastic cigarette wrapper with marijua
na in the passenger door and a metal grinder and a pipe
under the front passenger seat.
All three, a woman and two men. admitted to smoking
the marijuana.
The woman driver also was cited for speeding.
WOMEN GOING 100 MPH
ARRESTED ON DRUG CHARGES
A Maryland woman was arrested July 9 after an officer
clocked her speed at 100 mph on Interstate 85.
Carmen Gabrielle Moore, 20, 19324 Circle Gate Dr..
Apt. 304, Germantown, Md., was charged with possession
of a schedule I substance, possession of less than an ounce
of marijuana, reckless driving and speeding.
An officer stopped her Toyota Corolla about 2:05 a.m.
after checking her speed.
He “smelled a very strong odor of marijuana” when he
was at the car.
She said she had “only a little bit of marijuana in the
driver’s pocket door.” An officer found the drug in the
door pocket and “spread throughout the vehicle’s carpet.”
Another officer found an unopened bag of “weetos
cannabis.”
ARRESTS
Arrests made by Jefferson Police Department recently
include:
•David Wayne Sewell - 63, 1512 Yonah Homer Road,
Maysville - possession of cocaine, possession of a
drug-related object and driving on a suspended license.
•Charles A. Cunningham, 47, 648 Maley Road. Jef
ferson - simple battery - family violence, driving on a
suspended license and held on a warrant for child support.
•Tyler Dwayne Beck, 24, 550 Dixie Red Avenue, Jeffer
son - aggressive driving and driving on the wrong side of
an undivided street.
•Stephen Leroy Bryant, 20, 811 Pleasure Ives Court,
Auburn possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and
possession of a drug-related object.
OTHER INCIDENTS
Other incidents reported to the JPD recently include:
•a woman said she and her boyfriend had a dispute
when he turned the air conditioning off. She said he put
his hands around her neck and shoved her. He also threw
items around the house. However, the boyfriend said
the dispute occurred because he would not give her any
marijuana.
•a man said his son was bitten on the right buttock by
a neighbor’s dog. The son-in-law of the neighbor came to
the door and told the dog to “get him.” He told the man’s
son he better run fast. The homeowner said he was asleep
when the incident occurred. He said the dog is friendly
and believed his son-in-law may “have riled the dog up to
the point the dog became excited.”
•a woman said she received a call from a woman saying
she was with the Jefferson Police Department. The caller
said if the woman did not return a car battery, she would
have probable cause to arrest her.
•a store employee at Kroger reported a woman who had
previously attempted to shoplift at the grocery had a full
cart of groceries. He watched her until she noticed. She
left the cart and went out the door. The cart had $1,337
worth of merchandise.
•a woman said she believed a neighbor had keyed her
car after they had a dispute about her parking spot.
•two sisters said they have had “issues” with their
stepfather’s dogs on their property. One let one of their
dogs out without knowing their stepfather’s Jack Russell
terrier was outside. The sisters’ dog and the Jack Russell
got into a fight and the Jack Russell was seriously injured
and later died.
