Five other 4-H’ers par

of Georgia Extension State
4-H Horse show in June at
the Georgia National Fair
grounds in Perry.
The 4-H Horse Program
is a youth development pro
gram offered by the UGA
College of Agricultural and
Environmental Sciences.
Youth from all 50 counties
in Georgia participated.
The local Jackson Coun
ty participants were repre
senting the Peace of Heaven
Farms, under trainer/leader
Shannon Loven-Thompson
and included:
Cloverleaf Division: Ruby
Anderson, Josie Fuller, and
Alaina Thompson.
Junior Division: Kayden
Barnett, Jessica Strong,
Campbell Turner, Jacey
Anderson, Ashlyn Nunnally.
and Gracie Wilson.
Senior Division: LeeAnn
Loven.
All of the participants
competed in Hunt Seat
(English) classes.
They completed the 4-H
Horseman workbook and a
written educational test was
calculated into their overall
scoring.
Additionally, Ruby
Anderson and Alaina
Thompson competed in Clo
verleaf, and Campbell rode
in “Junior Division Stock
Seat (Western Riding).”
Loven-Thompson said.
“These kids are so amazing.
They have worked hard all
year to prepare their horses/
ponies for this competition.”

CITY OF ARCADE PUBLIC NOTICE
GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION QUALIFYING
Pursuant to Section 21-2-132(d) (3) qualifying for the General Municipal Election will be held at
Arcade City Hall, 3325 Athens Highway, Jefferson, GA, beginning on Monday, August 21, at 8:30 a.m.
and ending on Wednesday, August 23, at 4:30 p.m. The qualifying fee for the office of City Council
Member-At-Large is $36. (two positions to be filled) and the office of Mayor is $156. Qualifying fees
shall be paid to the City Administrator at the time the Notice of Candidacy is filed.
The Notice of Candidacy and Affidavit forms to be completed can be obtained at Arcade City Hall.
The Jackson County Board of Elections will conduct the General Municipal Election on Tuesday,
November 7, 2017 from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Arcade City Hall, 3325 Athens Highway,
Jefferson, GA
Early voting will be available on the following days and location:
Monday, October 16-Friday, November 3, from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. in Elections Office, 441
Gordon St., Jefferson, GA
Those persons who are not registered to vote and who desire to register may receive an application at
the Jackson County Elections Office, or at any public library. The deadline to register is Tuesday,
October 10, 2015.
