JCSO arrests
Maysville man charged for molestation
A Maysville man was recently arrested in a child moles
tation case,
Matthew Steven Fields, 31, 517 Horseshoe Bend, Mays
ville, faces charges of child molestation; first degree cruelty
to children; and sexual battery against a child under 16 years
old.
Jackson County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to
a Creekview Drive, Hoschton, residence on reports of child
molestation on July 21.
According to the complainant, a longtime family friend
tried to molest his 10-year-old daughter.
A female witness said the girl came into her room and
said, “I did not like it" several times. She said she woke up
and Fields, who was reportedly naked, was on top of her. He
allegedly kissed her, touched her and put his hands down
her pants.
When she woke up, he reportedly told her, “if you wake
up, don’t judge me.”
After hearing what happened, two adults confronted
Fields, who sometimes stays at the residence, and asked him
to leave. They said this was the first incident with Fields.
Fields reportedly sent the complainant a text message later.
“Justice for you, your family and (the victim) mostly, I will
accept. I know that’s the right thing to do. Have mercy, for I
know better yet lack most, and Lord have mercy on my soul,”
the message reportedly read.
Investigators were called for the incident.

Other arrests made by the JCSO were:
•Cody Lance Allen, 23, 158 Jims Lane, Nicholson — pro
bation violation on charges of simple assault-Family Vio
lence Act (FVA); probation violation on charges of a family
violence order violation; and probation violation on charges
of no insurance.
•Steven Anthony Austin, 33, 169 Fox Hall Trail, Athens —
driving on roadways laned for traffic; and driving under the
influence (DUI)-alcohol.
•Dustin Trent Harkins, 26, 190 Martin Byers Road,
Dahlonega — probation violation on charges of possession
of methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine
with intent to distribute.
•Ricky Lee Hensley, 49, homeless — probation violation
on charges of burglary and theft by taking; and probation
violation on charges of theft by taking.
•Amanda Elizabeth Norris, 29, 187 Stapler Drive, Nichol
son — probation violation on charges of cruelty to children;
and probation violation on charges of no insurance and fail
ure to stop at an accident.
•Michael Dale Payne, 64, 243 Atrim Glen Drive, Hoschton
— first degree cruelty to children-FVA; simple assault-FVA;
and simple battery-FVA.
•Pamela Ann Rollins, 55, 937 Hwy. 82 South, Jefferson —
giving false name and date of birth; hold for Walton County
for violation of probation on charges of no proof of insur
ance; no valid tag; and tire violation.
•Jade Myree Standridge, 32, 616 Dogwood Trail, Com
merce — bondsman off bond for deposit account fraud;
failure to appear on charges of deposit account fraud; and
probation violation on charges of Violation of the Georgia
Controlled Substances Act and reckless conduct.
•Harold Michael Hood, 58, 7181 Hwy. 72 East, Carlton —
hold for Spaulding County on charges of failure to appear for
dangerous drugs.
•Angel Luis Justiniano Rivera, 39, 80 Pleasant Hill Drive,
Talmo — driving without a valid license; and no proof of
insurance.
•Antonio Lopez-Delgado, 51, 2285 Lee Street, Gainesville
— driving without a valid license and speeding (60/45).
•Miranda Rose Young, 23, Hickory Way, Maysville —
hold for Baldwin Police Department for violation of proba
tion for a public order crime.
•Shannon Marvin Harper, 40, 541 Carruth Road, Jefferson
— probation violation on charges of forgery; and probation
violation on charges of obstruction of a law enforcement
officer.
•Joshua Eugene Smith, 37, 866 Old Kings Bridge Road,
Nicholson — battery-FVA; and two counts of willful obstruc
tion of a law enforcement officer.
•Ethan Stone Allen, 23, 474 Whitney Road, Jefferson —
failure to notify owner when striking a fixed object; failure
to maintain lane; failure to notify owner when striking a fixed
object (vehicle); and too fast for conditions.
•Henry Elbert Wiggins, 58, 176 Pine Street, Jefferson —
disorderly conduct; and influencing a witness.
•Mary Aileen Coronel, 47, 1348 Park Hill Drive, Gaines
ville — probation violation on charges of giving false name
or date of birth to a law enforcement officer and no license;
and hold for Cherokee County on charges of violation of
probation for Violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances
Act.
•Juan Carlos Espino, 20, 84 Hawks Court, Nicholson —
hold for Morgan County for failure to appear for possession
of marijuana less than an ounce; possession of marijuana less
than an ounce; felony theft by receiving stolen property; and
willful obstruction of law enforcement officers.
•Kevin Patrick Farley, 60, 886 Old Harden Orchard Road,
Commerce - simple assault and terroristic threats and acts.
•James Hoyte Harvey Jr., 23, 1072 Ford Drive, Jefferson
— possession of methamphetamine.
•Leland Jeremy Peck, 31, 438 Ivey Creek Drive, Nichol
son — probation violation on charges of entering a vehicle;
and two counts of theft by taking.
•William Richard Black, 30, 288 Poplar Street, Buford —
probation violation on charges of theft by taking.
•Waylon James Bohannon, 31, 314 Banyon Creek Drive,
Talmo — driving while license is suspended or revoked; and
probation violation on charges of no license.
•Betty Sue Crick, 52,1234 Cabin Bridge Road, Bethlehem
— probation violation on charges of financial identity fraud.
•Justin Michael Taylor, 22, 19 South Main Street, Mays
ville — failure to appear on charges of criminal trespass; and
bondsman coming off bond for criminal trespass-FVA.
•Robert Lafolette Tuggle, 46, 76 Musket Court, Nicholson
— probation violation on charges of possession of marijuana
with intent to distribute.
•Jennifer Rose Wiley, 29, 529 Red Oak Road, Maysville
— driving without a valid license; headlight violation; and
operation of a vehicle without a current plate.
•Dorothy Lanell Appleby, 53, 133 Marion Drive, Jefferson
— DUI-alcohol; failure to maintain lane; and open container.
•William Edward Cheek, 41, 963 Harmony Church Road,
Gillsville — hold for Hall County on charges of probation
violation for possession of methamphetamine.

Those arrested by the Georgia State Patrol were:
•Joshua Boyd Boberg, 20, 1025 Ruth Creek Court, Colum
bus — driving while license is suspended or revoked; know
ingly driving a motor vehicle without registration; and no
proof of insurance.
•Jose Reyes Morales, 24, 1205 Monroe Hwy., Bethlehem
— failure to maintain lane; failure to report an accident with
injury; and hit and run.
•Nicholas Santiago Thomson, 20, 5350 Segatara Lane,
Buford — hold for Clarke County on charges of failure to
appear for underage consumption of alcohol.
DMYS
Those arrested by the Georgia Department of Motor Vehi
cle Services were:
•Jack Elliott Walters, 49, 3700 Candler Road, Pendergrass
— driving while license is suspended or revoked: DUI-alco-
hol-less safe; hold for Hall County for a violation of a court
order; and improper lane change.
JCSO incidents - Pendergrass
Landlord accused
A Pendergrass landlord is accused of pointing a gun at
a resident.
Jackson County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to
Cedar Winds Drive on reports of pointing a gun at another
and theft by deception.
The landlord confronted residents at a house and said
he wanted them to move out by the next week. The resi
dents agreed to move and the man left.
He reportedly returned later with a gun and pointed it
at another resident who was sleeping.
The landlord again said he wanted the residents to
move out. The resident told him they would leave and the
landlord reportedly left the scene.
According to the complainant, the residents had been
paying their rent money to a third party, who was sup
posed to give it to the landlord. He didn’t.
Officers advised the residents to speak with magistrate
court since the landlord would need to go through the
eviction process.
OTHER INCIDENTS
Other incidents reported to the JCSO in Pendergrass
were:
•stolen weapons permit on Pond Fork Church Road
where Pendergrass woman reported a stolen pocket book
in Cumming. It had a weapons permit in it.
•fraud on Lipscomb Lake Road where someone claim
ing to be with DIRECTV asked a woman to buy an
Amazon card to pay for her television service as part of
a special discount promotion. The complainant hung up
the phone but later called back. An employee confirmed
DIRECTV has no such promotion and said it was a scam.
•harassing phone calls on Brooks Road where a man
said a tenant sent a threatening text message about lawn
maintenance. Officers said the messages weren’t threat
ening. She reportedly expressed her dissatisfaction with
the lawn maintenance and said she may seek legal action.
•speeding cars and suspicious vehicles on Lipscomb
Lake Road where a man said a driver almost struck him
while he was cutting grass. After the complainant threw
up his hands, the driver reportedly showed him his mid-

JCSO incidents - Talmo
Woman shoplifts
underwear, reading glasses
Employees of a Talmo store suspect a woman stole several
pairs of underwear and reading glasses.
Jackson County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to the
Main Street business on reports of theft by shoplifting.
An employee said two women entered the store and one
of them may have taken men and women’s underwear, along
with a pair of reading glasses. She estimates the merchandise
totaled $60 and wants to prosecute.
Other incidents reported to the JCSO in Talmo were:
•snake in residence on Old State Road. The residents hit the
snake with a shovel and put it outside,
•suspicious people and vehicle on Allen Bridge Road
where someone rang a doorbell at a residence and walked off.
Officers found three people nearby who said their car ran out
of gas. They smelled marijuana in the vehicle and later found
a smoked marijuana cigarette in the car's backseat. One of the
suspects also reportedly wouldn’t sit still. Officers patted him
down for weapons and found latex gloves and a box cutter.
He said he got the gloves at the hospital when he was sick but
didn’t tell officers why he needed them. Officers didn’t find
any evidence for charges and the car was out of gas, so they
gave the three a ride to a gas station.
Arcade PD
Woman charged
after argument
Arcade police arrested a woman for criminal trespass after
an argument among four women who shared a house.
Nichole Renee Brown, 33, Jefferson, was charged.
Brown was on the porch smoking and drinking a beer when
an officer arrived.
She said her roommates locked her out of the house.
Another woman came outside, and said Brown “was out of
control, as she had let her anger get the best of her.”
She said Brown was arguing with another of the women.
The woman who came outside said Brown and she were
“together,” and the other two women were together.
Brown denied getting in the woman's face, but she said
she was angry with her. She said since the woman moved in
“things were different.”
She said the other two women "leave the house in a mess.”
She said she “lost her cool.”
ARRESTS
Arrests made by the APD recently include:
•Tyson Keon Davenport, 32, 131 Juniper Lane, Athens -
speeding and driving on a suspended license.
•Zackary’s Ferric Neal, 30, 1965 Winterville Road, Athens
- suspended registration and driving on a suspended license.
•Christopher Alex Yearwood, 27, 93 Nelson Lane, Hiawas-
see - held on a Baldwin police warrant.
OTHER INCIDENTS
Other incidents reported to the APD recently include:
•a woman said she had an argument with her niece. The
woman was “very emotional and hollering” for her niece to
stay away from her. The argument was about the niece throw
ing away a half a loaf of bread, which she thought was too old
to eat. The woman accused the niece of wasting food and said
she had paid for it with food stamps.
•a man and woman said someone entered their trailer and
stole about $6 worth of food. The woman said it was the third
time someone had broken in and stolen nothing but food. The
man said he knew the backdoor lock was not secure so he
tied cords from it to the doorknob of the bedroom door. The
cords were cut. He said the intruder also rummaged through
the bedroom, removed his compound bow and poured the
contents of a wooden storage box into the bow’s case. The
only items taken were canned food.
•a man was given a warning about criminal trespass after
two employees of Arcade Food Mart said he urinated in the
parking lot. One woman said he asked to use the restroom and
was told the store does not have a public restroom. He said he
has trouble controlling his bladder and also said he tried to
conceal his action by opening the driver’s side door.

(a) the last day a person may register
