JCSO incidents - Nicholson
Ex-husband harasses
wife, vandalizes property
Officers with the Jackson
County Sheriff’s Office were
called out to Harris Lord Ceme
tery Road by a woman complain
ing about her ex-husband.
She said he tried to enter her
house one night by entering a pin
number on her lock. When he
couldn’t get inside, he threw her
new pool pump into the swim
ming pool and did “donuts” in
her front yard before leaving.

Other incidents reported to the
JCSO in Nicholson were:
•Reckless conduct on Jim
David Road where a man said he
fired his pistol at a man who was
taking a shotgun from his shed.
•custody dispute on Cabin
Creek Drive where a woman
complained about her estranged
husband taking their child. She
said the husband overheard her
calling a homeless shelter so he
left with the child.
•theft by taking on Pace Drive
where a man noticed people in
his son’s camper and items from
the camper missing.
•dispute on Old Athens Drive
where a woman complained
about her mother being mistreat
ed by her grandmother and cous
in.
•criminal trespass on Black-
thorne Drive where evicted ten
ants came to their former resi
dence and told the representative
of the property owner that they
were refusing to leave the prop
erty.
•possible assault on Jim David
Road where a woman claimed
that her and another woman were
assaulted by a man who came
through the woods into her back
yard.
•dispute over property on
New Kings Bridge Road where
a woman complained about a
neighbor digging on another
neighbor’s property.
•verbal dispute on Chandler
Road where a man complained
about one son threatening to beat
his other son up.
•verbal dispute on Broad Street
where a woman wanted to get
back together with her husband
while they were exchanging their
child and that led to an argument.
•verbal dispute on Ivey Creek
Drive where a couple got into an
argument which led to a breakup.
The woman tried leaving with
their children and they became
upset when the man said that
they wouldn’t see him again if
they left. An officer stepped in
and warned the man to let the
children go.
•civil dispute on Sanford Road
where a man complained about
the code enforcement officer
parking their trucks on his prop
erty.
•dog bite case on Ivy Creek
Drive where a dog bit a child
who was walking home from
playing basketball.
•entering auto on Old Kings
Bridge Road where a man com
plained about someone breaking
into his vehicle and stealing sev
eral items.
•suspicious person on Hawks
Court where a woman said her
young daughter heard a knock on
her bedroom window and when
the girl looked out the window,
she saw a man who then ran off
through the woods.
•civil matter on Hoods Mill
Road where a man complained
about a construction company
he hired dropping screws in his
driveway.
•suspicious activity on Lewis
Dailey Cove where someone
called about a vehicle parked in
the cul-de-sac and people fish
ing. Officers met the people who
were fishing and they proved that
they own the land they were on.

Superior Court of Jackson
County hands down sentences
Sentences in Superior Court of Jackson Coun
ty recently include:
•Justin Kidd - fourth-degree forgery - 12
months probation, restitution and $500 fine.
•Kevin Walker - theft by deception - 90 days
in jail with credit for time served, six years pro
bation, $2,000 fine, restitution of $150 and do
not return to named business.
•Abigail Kennedy - unlawful possession of
controlled substance - three years probation
with credit for time served, $1,000 fine and
waive Fourth Amendment rights.
•Sara Bryson - possession of methamphet-
amine - three years probation with credit for
time served, $1,000 fine and waive Fourth
Amendment rights.
•Timothy Bernard Davenport - two counts of
fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer,
speeding, failure to maintain lane, driving on
a suspended license and DUI - six years pro
bation, serve 48 hours in jail on 52 weekends,
$2,500 fine, no alcohol or drugs, 40 hours of
community service, random drug screens, risk
reduction program, alcohol and drug evaluation
and waive Fourth Amendment rights. A charge
of fleeing or attempt to elude an officer was
dismissed.
•Dusty Ray Dockery - theft by conversion
- five years probation, pay restitution within a
year of plea, probation may be non-reporting
after payment of fines, fees and restitution and
$1,000 fine. “Demurrer granted” on charge of
exploitation of elder person.
•Chad Dorsey - battery - family violence and
two counts of simple assault - 35 months proba
tion, $1,000 fine, Family Violence Intervention
Program and no contact with victim. A charge
of aggravated assault was dismissed.
•Donald Norman Drahan - two counts of
aggravated assault - 10 years probation with
credit for time served, $1,000 fine, Family
Violence Intervention program, no contact with
victims and waive Fourth Amendment rights.
•Donnavon Shane Edmond - possession of
methamphetamine - three years probation, $750
fine and waive Fourth Amendment rights. Two
counts of possession of drug-related objects
were dismissed.
•Gregory Javonte Evans - possession of a
schedule I controlled substance and posses
sion of less than an ounce of marijuana - four
years probation, $1,000 fine and waive Fourth
Amendment rights. A charge of disregarding
traffic control device was dismissed.
•Charles Everett McAttee - criminal trespass
-12 months probation, probation suspended on
payment of restitution June 29, restitution, no
contact with victim or victim’s family. A charge
of second-degree criminal damage to property
was dismissed.
•Charles Kirk Minish - possession of meth
amphetamine and simple battery - family vio
lence - three years probation, $1,000 fine and
waive Fourth Amendment rights.
•Brent Eric Money - possession of Oxyco
done and possession of less than an ounce of
marijuana - three years probation, $1000 fine
and waive Fourth Amendment rights. A charge
of speeding was dismissed.
• Vance Alan Fuller - possession of firearm
by a convicted felon, obstruction of officers
and driving on a suspended license - five years
probation, six months in jail with credit for time
served, $1,000 fine, 40 hours of community ser
vice and waive Fourth Amendment rights.
•Joseph Dean Meeler - possession of meth
amphetamine - three years probation with cred
it for time served, $1,000 fine and waive Fourth
Amendment rights.
•Darrell Lamar Mintz - battery - family vio
lence and obstruction of an officer - 12 months
probation, $1,000 fine and no contact with
victim. Charges of possession of methamphet
amine, possession of drug-related objects and
possession of less than an ounce of marijuana
were dismissed.
•James Allen Ray - possession of methadone
with intent to distribute and possession of
methadone - six years probation, two years in
prison suspended on 90-150 days at Probation
Detention Center, $1,000 fine and waive Fourth
Amendment rights.
•Helena Dawn Riffe - fleeing a police offi
cer - five years probation with one year house
arrest, except for matters involving children,
work and church, wear ankle monitor, fine
does not have to be paid while paying for ankle
monitor and waive supervision fees while pay
ing for monitor. $1,000 fine and waive Fourth
Amendment rights.
