Wayne Allison, 69, passed
away Monday, September 18,
2017, at his residence.
Mr. Allison was born in Lil-
burn, Ga., the son of the late
Leonard D. and Ruby Hughes
Allison. He was preceded in
death by his daughter, Erin
Cass. Mr. Allison was retired
from Conwed Plastics, Ath
ens, and was of the Baptist
denomination.
Survivors include his wife,
Mary Ann Harris Allison;

Rev. Bryan Anglin
SUMTER, SC - Rev. Brian
Keith Anglin, 50, beloved
husband of 18 years to Chris
ta Steeb Anglin, passed away
peacefully with his family by
his side on Sunday, Septem
ber 24, 2017, at his residence.
Born in Winder, he was
the son of Steve Franklin
Anglin and the late Demaris
Robertson Anglin. After high
school, Bryan joined the
United States Army, where he
and finished
his career at
Ft. Jackson as
a drill sergeant. Also, Bryan
worked as a crane operator.
He played the base guitar
and loved all kinds of music.
Bryan loved people and it was
his infectious personality and
quirky sense of humor that
drew the love and admira
tion of everyone that he came
in contact with. Bryan had a
deep love for God and served
him sacrificially through his
church and his life. He will be
remembered as a very loving
husband, father, son, broth
er, uncle and friend. He will
be dearly missed by all who
knew him.
Survivors in addition to his
wife are two honorary sons,
Matthew Steeb, Sumter, S.C..
And David Butler, Georgia;
one sister, Lisa Anglin, Jef
ferson; two nieces; and four
nephews.
Funeral services will be
held Wednesday, September
27, at 5:30 p.m., at Bethesda
Church of God. Interment
will take place on Thursday,
September 28, at 11 a.m. at
Ft. Jackson National Ceme
tery with military honors. The
family will receive friends
one hour prior to the service
on Wednesday from 4:30 to
5:30 p.m. at Bethesda Church
of God.

She was born in Danville,

Jean Gruhn
GAINESVILLE Jean
Ash Gruhn, 86, passed away
on Tuesday, September 19,
2017.
She was preceded in death
by her beloved husband,
Bobby Gruhn.
Survivors include her son
and daughter-in-law, Matthew
and Kendall Gruhn; grand
daughters Madeline and Ker
rigan Gruhn; and many nieces
and nephews.
Jean was born on August
27, 1931, the youngest of four
children to longtime educa
tors Arthur
and Stella
Ash of
Jefferson.
Following
in the path
of her par
ents, Jean
became
a teacher
and started
teaching in
Fort Valley, Ga. In 1954, she
came to Gainesville, where
she taught at GHS for 30
years. As the wife of Coach
Bobby Gruhn, she shared his
status as a significant role
model for her students and
community. During her
career at GHS, she served as
the girls PE teacher, as well as
the girls cheerleading, tennis,
and basketball coach. She
was awarded many accolades
including Star Teacher, Coach
of the Year, as well as com
missioning “The Rock” across
from GHS. Most important,
her door was always open to
female students who might
seek her counsel on a non
class issue, or just chatting
with her. Her presence at
GHS brought respect, admi
ration, and appreciation from
students and parents. She
was and will always be a RED
ELEPHANT.
Jean loved her family and
friends. Essential to her life
was supporting her son and
daughter-in-law and grand
daughters. She loved her
extended family and spend
ing time with them on holi
days. She loved traveling
and lunches out with friends,
and of course her many dogs
she had over the years. She
was a longtime member of
First Presbyterian Church of
Gainesville.
The Memorial Service was
held Saturday, September 23,
at First Presbyterian Church.
A private family graveside
was held at Alta Vista Cem
etery.

Regional Medical Center.

Washington on July 13, 1944,

Gunter Huguley. He was a

‘Eddie’ Lindsey
JEFFERSON James
Edward “Eddie” Lindsey, 73,
passed away suddenly on Fri
day, September 15, 2017, sur
rounded by family.
Eddie was bom to Janies
Louie and Mildred Lindsey,
and lost his parents early in
life. He worked for UPS for
36 years as a Feeder Driver
with a spotless driving record,
and became part of an elite
group within UPS, the “Cir
cle of Honor” before retir
ing. After his retirement, he
went to school to learn how
to operate the machinery he
acquired and traveled across
the country with his wife.
Most people knew that he
enjoyed life and was com
pletely full of himself. How
ever, he would give you the
shirt off his back if you need
ed it. He also relished negoti
ating a good deal, whether for
a tractor or a box of nails.
He was a member of New
Liberty United Methodist
Church and part of a tight-knit
Sunday school class.
Survivors include his wife,
Neil, of 54 years, and their
three children, Francie Jones
of Lenoir City, Tenn., Lisa
Goodson, Roswell, Ga., and
Jimmy Lindsey, Dallas, Ga.;
grandchildren, Scott, Brent,
Rebecca, Andrew, Brooke,
and Preston; a daughter- in
law, Danielle Lindsey; and

passed away on Sunday, Sep
tember 24, 2017, at the Hart
well Health and Rehabilita
tion Center in Hartwell, Ga.
Mrs. Parham was born in
Danielsville on May 20, 1931,
the daughter of the late T.
R. Berryman and Ellen Coile
Berryman. She was a home
maker and member of the
Mill Shoal Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death
by her husband, Joe Billings
Parham; brothers, Guy and
Leon Berryman; and sister,
Gaynelle Brown.
Survivors include her sons
and daughters-in-law, Billy
and Gail Parham, Royston,
Phil and Susan Parham, Hart
well, and Chris and Molly
Parham, Royston; brothers,
Quinton Buster Berryman,
Royston, and T. J. Berryman,
Danielsville; seven grandchil
dren; and 12 great-grandchil
dren.

Vernece Ramey
BRASELTON Vernece
Ramey, 70, passed away Fri
day, September 22, 2017,
peacefully in her sleep at her
residence following a long
bout with chronic illness.
She was one of 12 chil
dren born to the late Frank
and Kate Palmer, January 26,
1947, in White County, Ga.
She was married to the late
Jack E. Ramey for 43 years
until his death in November
of 2007.
They, along
with their
three boys,
Jeff, Scott,
and Keith,
moved
from White
County to
Jackson
County in
1975. She was preceded in
death by her only daughter,
Jackie Vernece Ramey.
Vernece worked as a house
keeper and in quality control
for various hotel, textile, and
poultry businesses in north
Georgia. Most affectionately
referred to as “Vern”, she will
best be remembered as a very
loving, caring, and devoted
wife, mother, grandmother,
sister, friend, and relative,
who passionately loved all
with a very tender heart, and
an occasional stern rebuke.
She loved NASCAR, camp
ing, and road trips with her
sisters and family, and was
quite fond of her dogs, Tin-
kerbell, Snowball, and Bella.
She will be greatly missed by
her family and friends.
Survivors include her three
sons, Jeff Ramey, Braselton,
Scott Ramey, Braselton, and
Keith Ramey, Ogden, Utah.;
nine grandchildren; and seven
great-grandchildren.
After cremation, a memo
rial service was held Monday,
September 25, in the chapel
of Bridges Funeral Home in
Athens.

John Stuedemann
COMER - John A. Stu
edemann, 74, passed away
on Thursday, September 14,
2017, on his farm in Comer,
Georgia.
He was born October 3,
1942, in Clinton, Iowa, the
son of Earl and Valeria Stu
edemann. He and his brother,
Raymond
Stuedemann,
were raised
on a live
stock and
grain farm.
John gradu
ated eighth
grade from
Hess School,
a one room
school where
he was the only person in
his grade every year but one.
John graduated from Clinton
High School in 1960, Iowa
State with a B.S. in Farm
Operation, a M.S. in Animal
Science and PhD in Ruminant
Nutrition from Oklahoma
State University.
In 1970, he started his
first and only job of 36 years
with the USDA Agricultural
Research Center at Watkins-
ville, Ga. John’s main area
of research was understand
ing and overcoming Fescue
toxicosis in cattle, with a
secondary focus in the con
trol and treatment of internal
parasites in cattle. He pub
lished research papers in both
national and international
publications. He was also
a co-holder of five patents
associated with overcoming
Fescue toxicosis.
John and his wife, Patricia,
purchased a farm in Madi
son County, Ga. in 1999.
They established Cold Spring
Angus Farm, where they
developed a registered black
angus herd that has become
one of the leading herds of
Pathfinder Cows in the state
of Georgia.
John has been active in
Madison County Cattlemen’s
Association, Madison County
Young Farmers Association,
Madison County FFA sup
porter, Governance Board of
the Broad River College and
Career Academy, and as a
commissioner on the Madison
County Planning and Zoning
Commission for eight years.
Survivors include his
wife of 49 years, Patricia;
his brother, Raymond Stu
edemann and wife Evelyn,
Clinton Iowa; several nieces
and nephews, and many great-
nieces and nephews.
He was honored to be a
member of such a caring com
munity and to be blessed with
fine neighbors. Closest to his
heart were Cody and Morgan
Floyd, who made it possible
for John to continue his pas
sion for farming and cattle up
to the time he died.
Visitation was held Satur
day, September 23, at Mead
ow Baptist Church in Comer.
Funeral services will be held
in Clinton, Iowa at a later
date.

Bruce Turner
Bruce Wayne Turner passed
away Thursday September
14, 2017, of natural causes.
Born on May 8, 1948, in
Somerville, N.J., he was the
son of Orie and Charlotte
Turner. As a corporal in the
United States Marine Corps,
he served his country dur
ing the Vietnam War from
1966 to 1972. Bruce was an
avid
sports
man and
enjoyed fish-
ing, hunting
and working in his taxidermy
shop. He was preceded in
death by three brothers, Orie
B. Turner, Fred Turner and
Carl Turner.
Survivors include his wife
of 32 years, Janice Watson
Turner; her two children,
Daniel E. McIntyre, Jr. and
Pamela McIntyre, and Brenna
Mason, Lisa Vaughn from his
previous marriage; two sib
lings, Char Turner Middleton
and Rick Turner; and sev
eral grandchildren, nieces and
nephews, uncles, cousins and
many friends.

Wednesday, September 20. A
