Estranged couple makes
multiple calls to sheriffs office
Jackson County deputies responded to four
calls at the same Jefferson house in three
days. Two other calls also involved the same
couple.
Two of the calls involved requests for a
“welfare check” on a wife and children. The
third was from the woman who said her hus
band had made suicide threats on the phone
to his 11-year-old son. The fourth call was
about harassment by text messages.
The first call was from the husband. He
said another man was at the wife's house.
The man was “known to use drugs,” the
husband said.
The woman said no one other than the
children were at the house. The two have an
“ongoing dispute” and an active temporary
protective order.”
On the second call, the woman said her
husband was texting one of their sons that
he was going to come get him. She said her
husband was not allowed within 100 yards of
her and that some of the messages to the son
were vulgar.
The third call was about the suicide threats.
When a deputy arrived, the woman said her
“estranged spouse” had talked to a neighbor
and "left a pumpkin and flowers for her.”
He called his son later in the day. The wife
called the sheriff’s office then.
After the third call, a deputy checked on
the woman and her children because of a call
from her husband. He said she was being held
against her will.
The woman said, “He has lost his mind” and
“we are fine” as soon as a deputy appeared.
She said her husband also caused a distur
bance at their child’s football game.
The husband called the sheriff’s office
about the incident at the football game.
He said another man had somehow
“hacked” into her Facebook Messenger
account and was responding to him.
“He gave long explanations as to his theory
of (the other man) somehow hacking into his
wife’s phone and made vague suggestions
that I check on his wife and children,” accord
ing to the report.
