JCSO incidents - Nicholson
Sisters fight in vehicle among reports in Nicholson
Officers with the Jackson County
Sheriff’s Office responded to a dispute
on Smith Overhead Bridge Road about
two sisters fighting inside a vehicle.
One sister picked up the other from
driving under the influence (DUI) school
and noticed the smell of alcohol. That
led to an argument which then led to the
sisters hitting and biting each other.
The first sister then got out of the car
and two men pulled over to keep the sis
ters from fighting. The sister who came
from DUI school told the officer that she
was very drunk.
The officer was unable to declare a
primary aggressor and the sisters were
separated. One drove off. the other was
taken to the hospital.

son County Sheriff’s Office in Nichol
son were:
•suspicious person on Jims Lane
where a woman complained about a man
“roaring” at her dogs from the street.
•runaway juvenile and theft by taking
on Jim David Lane where a woman com
plained about her 17-year-old daughter
running away from home and taking
her sisters $100 with her. She was later
located at a residence in Gainesville and
picked up by Gainesville police.
•animal control referral on Memorial
Drive where a man complained about a
dog escaping from a residence and try
ing to bite him.
•welfare check on Brooks Drive where
two women called complaining about
not knowing the location of another
woman.
•threats on Sanford Road where a
woman complained about two of her
husband’s relatives threatening to beat
her up and kill her dog.
•information on Hwy. 441 where a
woman complained about a dog she
bought on Craigslist acting out and bit
ing her daughter.
•suspicious activity on Kesler Road
where a man claimed to see someone
walking on his property.
•information on Old Kings Bridge
Road where a woman from Texas com
plained about her ex-boyfriend taking
their daughter to Georgia. Officers went
to the ex-boyfriend’s residence and
met a roommate who claimed that the
ex-boyfriend had sole custody of the
child.
•dispute on Sanford Drive where an
elderly couple got into an argument over
the woman not wanting the man to live
there anymore and the man complaining
about the TV being too loud.
•criminal trespass on Berea Road
where a man complained about another
man coming onto his property.
•suspicious person on Hwy. 441 where
a man was walking in the median. He
claimed that he missed his ride out-of-
state and was trying to get to his sister’s
house to stay the night.

APD gets three calls about same woman; deputies arrest her
A sister and mother of a woman called twice the after
noon of Oct. 4 about the woman threatening to kill herself
“by alcohol poisoning.”
A third call at 4:26 p.m. that day involved Arcade
Police Department and sheriff’s deputies. The woman
was arrested for public drunkenness and obstruction.
Arin Lindsey Martin, 28, 127 Rock Forge Court, Jef
ferson, was charged when deputies responded to a call
that a woman was walking in the road on Highway 82,
trying to get a car to hit her
When an Arcade officer arrived, the woman was sit
ting in a car, drinking “small sample bottles of whiskey.”
She was crying and said she wanted to kill herself. She
did not want to be taken anywhere for help.
A deputy called for EMS to check her for a mental
evaluation.
She got a small bottle of Fireball liquor from her
purse, but a deputy took that from her and handcuffed
her when she tried to get more liquor.
He uncuffed her and allowed her to smoke, she burned
her arm with the cigarette. She then “took off running
toward the roadway.”
OTHER ARRESTS
Arrests made by the Arcade Police Department recent
ly include:
•Ricky Terrell, 37, 262 Chalfont Lane. Athens - held
on a Greene County warrant, expired registration and
driving on a suspended license.
•Isaac Fuentes-Arroyo, 37, 330 Lem Edwards Road,
Winterville - expired registration and driving without a
valid license.
•Robert Lee Tate, 51, 117 Parkview Homes, Athens -
driving on a suspended license, use of license plate to
conceal identity of vehicle and expired registration.
OTHER INCIDENTS
Other incidents reported to the APD recently include:
•an employee at Dollar General said a woman harassed
her about an earlier confrontation. The woman said she
called “the corporate number” on the employee.
•a man said a neighbor came to a get-together at his
house and said “he was going to kick (their) asses,”
threatened “to get his boys” and made a slicing motion
with his finger across his throat. The neighbor denied
doing any of the above. He said he “could hear them
talking loudly about him” and told them to stop.
•a woman said a neighbor told her that the children of
another neighbor let kittens out of their pen.
•a woman said a man came to her house despite her
saying she “wants him out of her life.” She said he left
her two voice mails and had friends call and text her. He
was given a criminal trespass warning by deputies when
he came to her house.
•a woman on Trotters Ridge Road said someone threw
a rock through their front window while they were gone.
Her husband said he believed he saw a “cruiser-style
motorcycle” in their drive.
•a man in a mobile home on Athens Highway said he
went outside about 10:30 p.m. Oct. 7 and found two men
with flashlights near his vehicle. One man was shining
his light in the vehicle. The two ran and he followed
them to where they got in a Ford Explorer parked on
the road.
•a woman said her husband, from whom she is sep
arated, wanted her to keep their two children out of
school Oct. 6 but she did not. He called to ask about
them and “got very angry with her.”
•a man said a woman, who was his girlfriend, and a
man “jumped him” in the parking lot at Bulldog Package
Store. He said the woman slapped him on the left side of
his face and the man punched him on his left jaw.
•two accidents with no injuries reported.
State Court of Jackson County hands down sentences
Sentences in Jackson County State Court recently
include:
•Katherine Brown - simple battery, reduced to disor
derly conduct - 12 months probation, $686 fine and four
hours of community service.
•Katherine Rose Konrad - DUI - 12 months probation,
10 days in jail, 80 hours of community service, drug and
alcohol evaluation, risk reduction program and $1,000
fine. A charge of open container violation was dismissed.
•Richard Wilson - use of fighting words and giving a
false name or date of birth - 17 days in jail with credit for
time served, 12 months probation, 40 hours community
service, $1,000 fine and values class. A charge of disor
derly conduct was dismissed.
•Brandon Wayne Richards - theft by shoplifting - 12
months probation, $500 fine and stay away from Tanger
Outlet Mall. A second charge of theft by shoplifting was
dismissed.
•Shayne Michael Walker - DUI-less safe, reduced to
reckless driving - fined $1,318.
•Taron Dimmie - possession of less than an ounce of
marijuana - fined $300.
•David Gilbert Wier - driving on the wrong side of the
road, reduced to reckless driving - fined $1,318. Charges
of DUI-less safe, failure to obey authorized person and
open container violation were dismissed.
•Jesus Jassiel Ibarra - DUI-less safe, reduced to reck
less driving - six months probation and $1,000 fine.
Charges of DUI and loitering on school premises were
dismissed.
•Ivan Salcido - DUI-less safe - 12 months probation,
48 hours in jail, $600 fine, 60 hours of community
service, drug and alcohol evaluation and risk reduction
program. Charges of DUI-alcohol and marijuana, brake
lights and open container violation were dismissed.
•Melanie Elizabeth Burt - failure to maintain lane,
reduced to reckless driving - $1,418 fine. Two counts of
DUI were dismissed.
•Wiley Frederick Jr. - battery-family violence - 12
months probation, 12 anger management classes, drug
and alcohol evaluation, $500 fine and no violent contact
with victims. Charges of criminal trespass and obstruct
ing a 911 call were dismissed.
•Derrick Lajuris Raiford - use of fighting words - 12
months probation, $500 fine and no violent contact with
victim. A charge of terroristic threats and acts was dis
missed.
•Andrew Thomas Baird - open container violation -
$276 fine. A charge of underage possession of alcohol
was dismissed.
•Joshua Sean Garcia - loitering - two days in jail with
credit for time served.
•Paul Roland Mayer - DUI - 12 months probation, 72
hours in jail, $600 fine, drug and alcohol evaluation, risk
reduction program and 60 hours of community service.
Charges of striking a fixed object and reckless driving
were dismissed.
•Michael Andrew Chandler - three counts of simple
battery against a law enforcement officer - 12 months in
jail, suspended all but 54 days with credit for time served,
upon the defendant staying out of Jackson County except
for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sundays for church. A charge of
simple battery was dismissed.
•Kelly Pendley Holt - driving under the influence of
drugs, reduced to DUI-alcohol - 12 months probation,
24 hours in jail with credit for time served, $600 fine, 40
hours of community service, drug and alcohol evaluation
and risk reduction program. Charges of failure to main
tain lane, failure to signal lane change and inoperable turn
signals were dismissed.
•Robert Stephen Saliba - DUI - 12 months probation,
48 hours in jail with credit for time served, $800 fine,
drug and alcohol evaluation, risk reduction program and
60 hours of community service, A charge of failure to
maintain lane was dismissed.
•James Avery Parson - fleeing a law enforcement offi
cer and speeding - 12 months probation, 12 months hard
suspension, do not drive while on probation, half of fines
contest to community service and $481 fine. Charges of
stop sign violation, operation of a vehicle with a cracked
windshield and tire requirements were dismissed.
•Taylor Allen Carithers - DUI-less safe - 12 months
probation, 24 hours in jail with credit for time served,
$600 fine, 40 hours of community service, drug and alco
hol evaluation and risk reduction program. Charges of
open container violation, speeding and notice of change
of address or name were dismissed.
•Anthony Nikolae Cuzman - DUI - 12 months pro
bation, $600 fine, 48 hours in jail with credit for time
served, drug and alcohol evaluation, risk reduction pro
gram and 60 hours of community service. Charges of
speeding, obscured vision through window tint and open
container violation were dismissed.
•Will L. Parks - DUI-less safe and driving on a sus
pended license - 12 months probation, 20 days to serve
with credit for time served, $2,000 fine, 240 hours of
community service, drug and alcohol evaluation, risk
reduction program, photo fee. ignition interlock and do
not drive without a valid license. Charges of failure to
maintain lane, open container violation and tire require
ments were dismissed.
•Geoffrey John Gaddy - littering - $413 fine.
•Quinn Johnson - possession of less than an ounce of
marijuana - $300 fine.
•Orson Hagar - loitering - 22 days in jail with credit
for time served.
•Bobby Seagraves - DUI-drugs, reduced to DUI-alco-
hol, fleeing a law enforcement officer, driving on a sus
pended license and stop sign violation - 24 months pro
bation, 150 days in jail with credit for time served, $2,750
fine, drug and alcohol evaluation, risk reduction program,
240 hours of community service and do not drive without
a valid license. Charges of obstruction, reckless driving,
no tag and taillight violation were dismissed.
•Daniel Vandeford - loitering - 17 days in jail with
credit for time served.
•Javante Harper - loitering - 12 months probation,
$500 fine and stay away from listed address. A charge of
possession of drug-related objects was dismissed.
•Lonnie Bentley - criminal trespass and giving a false
name or date or birth - 14 days in jail with credit for time
served, $500 fine, 12 months probation, no contact with
victims, stay away from listed address and restitution.
•Rodney Scott - obstruction, reduced to disorderly
conduct, and possession of drug-related objects - 15 days
in jail with credit for time served, 12 months probation
and $1,000 fine.
•Cordis Daniel - pedestrian under the influence - three
days in jail with credit for time served.
•Catherine King - disorderly conduct - jail time from
Sept. 23 to Oct. 9.
•Wade Wagnor - simple battery-family violence - 14
days in jail with credit for time served, 12 months pro
bation, $500 fine. 12 anger management classes and no
violent contact with victim.
