Jefferson PD
One man charged with kidnapping,
A Jefferson man was
charged with kidnapping
and aggravated assault
after officers stopped the
car he was in on Interstate
85.
Evan Jarquin-Garcia,
23, was arrested after
the driver of the car said
he was threatened. The
driver said Garcia had a
knife in his shoe. Offi
cers found a small steak
knife with a brown wood
en handle, but it was lost
when it was “blown off’
as Jarquin-Garcia was
being taken to jail.
A search for the knife
in the area of the stop was
not successful.
The driver said the two
passengers bought beer at
a convenience store and
he told them to get out
because they could not
drink in his car. He said
Jarquin-Garcia “lifted
his pant leg and revealed
a knife to him, saying,
‘There are plenty more in
the bag, just drive.”
OFFICERS FIND
$14,000; CHARGE
ONE MAN
Jefferson officers found
$14,000 in the trunk of a
car stopped for speeding
on Interstate 85.
Thomas Danti Wilson,
27. 426 October Lane,
Boiling Springs, N.C.,
was arrested for theft by
receiving stolen property,
possession of less than
an ounce of marijuana,
obscured license plate
and speeding.
The Chevrolet Camaro
was “clocked” at going
88 mph.
Wilson admitted to hav
ing marijuana. He also
had about $700 cash.
An officer saw a text
message on Wilson’s
phone about a gun under
the seat. He found a load
ed Taurus .45 LC410 GA
revolver. It was reported
stolen from Greer, S.C.
When searching the
trunk, officers found sev
eral boxes of “DJ-type
equipment,” a book bag,
cloth bag, Wells Fargo
bank bag and two grocery
plastic bags.
The book bag had the
cash in a main compart
ment and a zippered rear
compartment. The money
was bound with rubber
bands and in denomina
tions from $1 to $100.

A Jefferson man was
arrested on multiple
charges, including for
drugs, after a traffic stop
on Commerce Road.
Martin Adam Jackson,
53, 122 Woodmont Lane,
Jefferson was charged
with DUI-marijuana.
failure to maintain lane,
taillight lenses required,
possession of less than
an ounce of marijuana,
possession of metham-
phetamine, possession of
a drug-related object and
possession of a firearm
during the commission of
a crime.
A glass jar with mar
ijuana and a metal pipe
were found in Jackson’s
right front pocket. He
admitted it was “weed.”
A cigarette pack with
a plastic bag containing
methamphetamine was
found in the center con
sole.
A Taurus PT 101P .40
caliber handgun was
between the driver’s seat
and center console. It was
loaded, but did not have a
round in the chamber.
WOMAN ARRESTED
AFTER SISTERS
FIGHT
A woman was charged
with simple battery after
an officer found them in
the front yard yelling at
each other.
Amber Brittney Cham
berlain, 22, 112 Oak
Ridge Dr., Jefferson, was
arrested.
The other sister had
claw marks on the right
side of her face and
scratches on her forearm.
She had a bruise on the
inside part of her left arm.
She said they had been
arguing “the past few
days” and it became more
“heated and volatile.”
Amber said they were
arguing because she
does not think her sister
cares for her child as she
should.

Department recently
include:
•a man on Pine Street
said a motorcycle and
four tires with rims were
stolen from the property.
He said the house had
been destroyed in a fire
and he no longer lived
there. The theft occurred
between Oct. 2 and 12,
he said. He said the items
were worth about $1,650.
•a man said he paid
$1,000 for a golf cart
Sept. 24. He said it was
at the seller’s business,
locked with a chain on
a trailer. The man got a
bill of sale for the cart
Sept. 25, but he was told
to “cease contact and stay
away from him” when he
continued to ask for the
cart.
•a man said he bought
beer at a local gas sta
tion and his wallet, with
about $700 and his Social
Security card in it, was
missing.
•a man said he left the
apartment he shared with
his girlfriend and her
children about 10:54 p.m.
and she locked him out.
She said she did not want
him leaving and coming
back late at night with her
children there.
•a man said he closed
a garage door to keep his
belongings from getting
wet and a friend’s sis
ter argued with him. The
woman’s father grabbed
him when he went in the
house and said, “You dis-

A neighbor reported residents in a
nearby house yelling. A deputy found a
woman lying in the floor crying when
he arrived.
The man said his wife came home and
said, “Someone is going to die tonight.”
Both said she had used methamphet
amine, two days earlier.
She was taken to Northeast Georgia
Medical Center for a heart condition
and because she said she was “coming
down” from the meth.

Office recently include:
•a man on Maysville Road said a utili
ty trailer was stolen from the side of the
road while he was having work done so
he could pull the trailer.
•a man was found dead on his porch.
Blood was found throughout the house.
Investigators said it may have come from
a port put in the man’s arm for dialysis,
•a man said he was on Pleasant Acres
Drive trying to collect payment on a
motorcycle he had sold. He said he saw
the man he sold it to drive by on the
motorcycle. The driver of the motorcy
cle wrecked it shortly thereafter.
•a man on Horse Shoe Bend said a pig
“wandered into his yard” about noon
Oct. 10. He could not find its owner.
•a man was served with a notice of
a suspended driver’s license during a
traffic stop. He received a warning about
failure to maintain lane and taillight
violation.
•a woman said someone took her wal
let, which included credit cards, cash
and personal items, plus her Georgia
weapons carry permit from a truck stop
in Mississippi. She said her husband
and she, who are truck drivers, were
working.
•a woman said someone dumped TVs
on the back of her property that borders
Unity Church Circle.
•a man on Porter Road said mail
belonging to his neighbor and him was
scattered on the ground.

•a man said he had an
argument with his girl
friend about her watching
the children while he was
at work. He said she told
him she would have him
arrested for domestic vio
lence and she would get

•a woman said she tried
to pick up her medication
and was told it had been
picked up nearly a month
earlier. She said the sig
nature matched a friend
and she did not authorize
him to get the medication.
•a man said he sold
two men bales of hay
for $450. The truck tag
did not match the paper
license. The check also
belonged to someone
else.
•a woman said her
ex-husband broke a lan
tern and took three more
that were on the porch.
He said he was going to
come back and take more
items he had given her.
•a woman said another
woman came to her door
and asked if she had pre
scription medication she
would sell her. She also
asked for other names of
residents in the area.
•a man said he was
from Georgia Power and
was checking for elec
trical damage from the
storm. He said he was
checking TVs and com
puters. A woman told him
he could not come in the
house.
•14 accidents with no
injuries were reported.

when he opened the building Oct. 4. He said the door
to the parts warehouse had been pried open at the
deadbolt. Nothing appeared to be missing. Dispatch
said it had not received an alarm notification for that
date.
•a couple on River Birch Loop said their 2016
Ford Explorer was taken from their drive. It had a
key in it. Another vehicle was entered and a laptop
computer was taken. The vehicle had a busted out
back window.
•a deputy found several people on a porch of a
house on Rock Forge Court. A man said several
of his children had been arguing about an incident
where they worked. Those involved said it was “just
a lot of yelling and cursing at each other.”
•a man and his son argued about the son hiding his
father’s tools. The father said his son hid the tools
and was “confrontational” when asked about them.
•a man said he went to cut grass on property owned
by a cousin who lives in Franklin County. He said he
found the house was damaged. The damage included
windows busted, a door pried open, window and
door screens cut and yellow tape over one porch and
the side of the house. Nothing appeared to be taken.
•a man on McRee Road said three adult men were
riding dirt bikes on his property without permission.
•a woman on Lewis Bond Road said she found
footprints in the dew near the wood line at the back
of the property. She said she believes neighbors,
who she does not know, are coming on her property
at night.
•a man who said he was the head pastor at Sum-
merhill Baptist Church said he was locked out of the
building by the deacons. He said locks on the build
ing and his office were changed.
•a grandmother and 10-year-old granddaughter
had a fight over the grandmother taking the juve
nile’s phone away. The grandmother said she got on
her granddaughter about opening a soft drink while
she still had half of one in her room. The girl said
she was going to run away and left, but came back
because of rain.
•a man on RJ. Roberts Road complained that his
neighbor’s dogs come off the porch when he leaves
and onto his property. He said he wanted the dogs to
stay off his property.
•a man said his son complained of being beaten
by his mother’s boyfriend when “he was being bad.”
The boy acted scared when he knocked a box over
at his father’s house. When asked why, he said the
boyfriend whips him with a belt six times when “he
is bad and doesn’t listen.”
•an employee of Jackson EMC said someone
electronically cashed a check for $497 through their
account Oct. 10. She said the check was originally
made out to a woman for not quite $11 but never
cashed. The check was “tampered with” and made
out to a different woman for a different amount.
