Adarien Bernard Wright, 35, of Hull, faces charges of driving while license is suspended or revoked; driving under the influence (DUI)-alcohol; duty of driver of vehicle meeting or overtaking a school bus; fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer; following too closely; hit and run; violation of obedience to traffic control de vices; reckless driving; and stop/yield sign violation. According to the Georgia State Patrol, Wright fled from the Arcade Police Depart ment in a Kia Forte on SR 15 Alt. on Sept. 16. During the pursuit. Wright reportedly followed a Hyundai Elantra too closely and he struck the Elantra twice, causing the ve hicle to travel down an embankment and strike two trees. The driver of the Elantra, a 25-year-old Nicholson woman, was not injured. Wright fled after striking the vehicle. Authorities were able to track Wright by following pieces of vehicle debris that fell off his vehicle. JCSO - Incidents Jefferson man treated for accidental gunshot wound JCSO Juvenile makes social media post about school theft as nation-wide trend continues A Jackson County High School assistant principal told the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office that he had video evidence of a juvenile on Snap Chat holding up one of the school’s sink handles at his home. The alleged incident comes as the U.S. is seeing a viral trend of students damaging bathrooms and post ing the crimes on social media site, TikTok. Accord ing to a recent media reports nation-wide, adminis trators and law enforcement officials say the hashtags #deviouslick” or #deviouslicks” accompany these TikTok posts. Multiple media outlets are reporting stolen soap dispensers, damaged sinks and clogged toilets as part of the trend. Arcade PD Train strikes car at Arcade RR crossing A Jefferson man was re cently treated for an acci dental self-inflicted gunshot wound. On Sunday, September 12, around 9:30 p.m. a Jack- son County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to North east Georgia Medical Center Braselton where the man was being treated for a gunshot wound to his left hand. The man said he had just gotten home from the gun range and was cleaning his Taurus Gen 2 9 mm hand gun when it accidentally dis charged. He said there must have been a hollow point round left in the chamber. He said the round went in his left palm and came out the side of his hand, but didn’t hit any bones, just flesh. The man was treated for his injuries and released from the hospital. See JCSO, page 8A A female was injured on Wednesday, Septem ber 8, when her car was struck by a train in Ar cade. Arcade Police Depart ment officers responded to the railroad crossing at Wyatt St. where the fe male driver of a Chrysler 300 had crossed the rail road tracks in front of a CSX train that was trav eling southbound. The train struck the driver’s side of the car and pushed it about 100 yards south of the Wyatt St. crossing before coming to a stop.
