Uie Science of Medicine—a doctrine which,
though veheiuently opposed by many of the t‘_-
CJilty, [•('which he is a valuable member,] he
prove* to be as well founded iu truth as any doc
trine of Holy Writ—a doctriue, upon the verity
of which are suspended the lives of millions ofour
race, and which he boldly challenges his oppo
sers to refute, viz.: Consumption is a disease al
ways occasioned by a dixiraeredstate of Vis Vita
(or Lift Principle) of the human body: often
secretly lurking in the system for years Lsfore there
is die least complaint of the Lungs c £Q---and which
may be as certainly, though not so quickly, cured,
as a common cold or a simple L « adaehe. An inval
uably precious dectriue this, as it imparts an im
portant lesson to the apparently healthy of both
sexes, teaching them that this insidious foe may
be as unobserved inmate of their ‘‘clayey houses’
even while they imagine themselves secure fro i
ifis attacks, teaching them that THE GREAT
SECRET IN THE ART OK PRESERVING

EASE WHILE in THE BLADE. ANDiNOI
WAIT TILL THE FULL GROWN EAR.
This illustrious benefactor of man is also enti-
Ued to our unfeigned gratitude, and the gratitude
of a world, for the invention of his MATCH
DESS SANATIVE,—whose healing fiat may
justly claim for it such a title, since it has so
signally triumphed over our great common cue
»y both ir the first ati.l
last stages,---a medicine which has throughly fii
lad the varum in the Materia Medica. and
thereby proved itself the of Phys
—a medicine, for which all mankind
will have abundant cause to bless the beneficent
hand of a kind Providence, —a medicine whose
wondrous virtues have been so glowingly portray
ed even by some of our clergy, in their pastoral
visits to the sick chamber; by which means they
•iten become t.* • happy instruments of changing

GOELICKE’S is a medicine of more value to man
than the vast minps of Austria, or even the united
reas ires of our globe,—a medicine, which is ob
■uneieqnally from the vegetable, animal and min
eral kingdoms, and thus possesses a three-foid
power—a medicine, which thougn designed as
a remedy for consumption solely, is possessed of
a mysterious influence over many diseases of the
V .man system,— a medieme, which begines to be
valued by Physicans . w' j are daily witnessing
its astonishing cures of many whom they had re
signed to the g'aspof the Insaiiabef.Grave.

A certificate from three members of the
MEDICAL PROFESSION in Germany, in
Europe.
We, the undersigned, practitioners of medicine
in Germany are well aware that, by our course,
we may forfeit the friendship of some of the fa
culty, but not of its benevolent members, who are
uninfluenced by selfish motives. Though we
shall refrain from an expression of our opinion,
either of the soundness or unsoundness of Dr.
Goelicke’s new doctrine, we are happy to? say
that we deem his Sanative too valuable not to be
generally known—for what our eyes behold end
our ears hear, we must believe.
We hereby state, that when Dr. Louis OiTon
Goelicke first came before the German public, as
the pretended discoverer of anew doctrine and a
new medicine, we held him in the highest con
tempt, believing, and openly pronouncing him to
be a base impostor and the prince of quacks. But,
on hearing so much laid about the Sanative,
against it and for it, we were induc'd, from motives
of curiosity merely, to make trial of its reputed
virtues upon a number of our most hopeles- > a
tients;and we now deem it ourhounden duty (even
at the expense of our self interest) publicly so ac
knowledge its efficacy in curing uot only consump
tion. but other fearful ms’idies, which we have
heretofore believed to !-s incurable. On* con
empt for the discoverer of this medicine was at
once swallowed up in our utter astoi-’shn.e.nt at
these unexpected results; and, as am ..d» fur onr
abuse of him, we do frankly confess ‘o the world,
that we believe him a philanthropist, who does
honor to the profession, and to our count: y, which
gave him birth.
The recent adoption of this medicine into some
of our European hospitals is a sufficient guaranty
that it performs all its promises. It needed not
our testimony for wherever it is used u is its own
best witness.

Sir—A most wonderful cure has lately effect
ed, through the vi 'uesof Dr. Goelick's Sanative,
in the case of an elderly gentleman, who was far
gone and wasted away in CONSUMPTION,
and considered PAST RECOVERY BY lIIS
FAMILY PHYSIC VV. He is now compara
rrvelv speaking, a WELL MAN. I saw him
myself a few days since, in company with his wife
starting on a jouTiev to the western part ofthis
State. He ascribes his escape am the very jaws
of death, and his recovery to health -olelv to the
a uomshing virtues of the Matchless Sanative.
He is a man possessing a snug propertv, hut, «ayS
