A certificate from three members of the
MEDICAL PROFESSION in Germany, in
Europe.
We, the undersigned, practitioners of medicine
in Germany are well aware that, by our course,
we may forfeit the friendship of some of the fa
culty, but net of its benevolent members, who arc
Uninfluenced by selfish motives. Though we
shall refrain from an expression of our opinion,
either of the soundness or utLouudness of Dr.
Goelicke’s nnc doctr>ne, we arc happy to say
that we deem his Sanative too valuable not to be
generally known- tor what our eyes behold end
our ears hear, we must believe.
We hereby state, that when Dr Lo us ‘ )tVon
Goelicke first came before the German public, as
the pretended discoverer of a ew do trine and a
new medicine, we held him in the highest con
tempt, believing. and oVuilv pronouncing him ? o
be a base impostor an i the prince of quacks. But,
ou hearing so mu* h .ad about the Sanative,
against it and for it, we were induced, from motives
of curiosity merely, to make trial of its reputed
virtues upon a number of our mist hopeless pa
tients; and we now deem it ourbounden duty (even
at the expense of our self interest) public'v o ac
knswledge its efficacy in curing not on’v consumu
tion, but other fearful inn’adies, which we have
her-to >re believed to ' « incurable. Our con
cm t for the discoverer of this medicine was at
once swallowed up in our utter astordshrt.ent at
these unexpected results; and, as am ads for our
abuse of him, we do franklv confess > the world,
that we believe him a philanthropist, who does
honor to the profession, andro ourcountiy, w hich
gave him birth.
The recent adoption of th s medicine into some
of our European hospitals is a sufficient guaranty
that it perforins all its promises.' ft needed not
onr testimony for wherever it is used ; is its own
best witness.
