Sen. ’J r The names ,of the District Deputies, not published oil the first of July, will be given in our next, with some other communications prop erly belonging to this Department. Obituary Notices. There are, we apprehend, near twelve thou sand Sons of Temperance in Georgia, and the number is rapidly increasing: It will be impos sible for us to publish extended notices of all who die, and we wish to make no distinctions. It is, therefore, hoped that, in future, the Divis ions will not expect us to publish all their pro ceedings in relation to departed members. A hint, we trust, will be sufficient upon this subject. Blakely, Ga., July 6th 1849. At a regular meeting of Magnolia Division, No. 113, held oil the 30th ult, the following preamble and resolutions were adopted. Whereas, Magnolia Division No. 11.3 S, of T. of the State of Georgia, is ever ready and willing to yield a cheerful compliance to the de cisions of the National Division, when these de cisions tend to advance and promote the inter est of the Order. Bui when any rule, regula tion or by-law prescribed by the authority afore said is manifestly injurious to the interest of the Order, we, as a constituent of that vast body, deem it our duty and our right to remonstrate against such rule, regulation orTjj-Maw, HIM w ercise our influence, however humble and feeble, to have it repealed. Beit therefore, Resolved, That in the opin ion of this Division the construction placed upon Art. 2nd. of Constitution, found in chap. 3rd, Art. Ist. Sec. 2nd. of Revised rules adopted by the National Division, for the government of Subordinate Divisions” in the following words to wit, “ A member who make 6, buys, of sells spirituous or malt liquors, wine or cider as a bev erage for anotherperson, although he may make no profit thereby, violates the pledge,” inasmuch as it tends to the exclusion and withdrawal of good and worthy men from the order, who are employed in our country and village stores, so unfounded in reason and contrary to the spirit and meaning of the pledge. Resolved, That in the opinion of this Divis ion, the National Division erred in placing such a construction upon the pledge, or any other at variance with its true spirit and meaning. Resolved, That our Grand Representative be and is hereby requested to present the subject to the National Division and urge an immediate repeal of said rule. Resolved, That the R. S. be instructed to for ward a copy of these resolutions to the Temper ance Banner, for publication, one to tl(e Grand and one to the National Division. R. W. WADE, R, S. Waymianville,.
