Though all other tiea are broken.

Who, who, is like a mother to guide us in
our youth,
To keep us in ourduty, in purity and truth!
In |ier the smiling infant most trustingly j
confides;
It smiles when others scorn it, but weeps
when mother chides.
She modifies our nature while we are very
young,
And shows us that veracity must dwell upon
our tongue;
She is on* guardian angel to watch us night
and day—
To help us shun temptation and citrate to
duty’s sway.
Whoever else inny scorn us, let mother be
our friend—
In life’s dark eccentricities her choicest bles
sings send ;
She soothes our troubled spiiits in man
hood's ripen years!
llow bracing! how delicious! a mother’s |
smiles and tears!
How pleasant to remember our mother—
nearest friend;
As o’ver life’s stormy ocean our weary
course wii wend ;
We often hear her voice sound from the
spirit land,
And oft we see her figure, and hear her
sweet command.
W kej> on misfortune’s surging tide in sor
row we are thrown,
We hear her dove-like voice, and feel her
gentle tones,
.Aid though she's sleeping with lire dead,
her lovely form uv see,
As when in childi h hours we played around
bet knee.
How careful should a mother be to train her
i ffspring right,
To keep them tree front every pride, inebri
ation, spile!
Though many gdod instructions we tut'V
have in niter-days,
A mother’ teaching is the >/, and will for
ever sway.

cpillS PREPARATION is made as pure as
-L possible. Its bitter taste, and beneficial ef
fects in diseases of the Liver, and diseases
arising from an impure state of the Blood,
| prove it to be the purest and most useful prepar
| ution of Sarsaparilla that is made.
Those who have used the various prepara
tions of Sarsaparilla will find, by the taste and
effect, that there is more Sarsaparilla in one
bottle of Dr. D’s. preparation, than in half a
-dozen bottles as it is generally made.
That it might be more particularly adapted
tc professional use, nothing but the pure Sarsa
parilla has been used, that for different disea
ses , physicians might combine or prescribe with
it, t uch articles as they might consider most
appropriate in cases under their treatment.
Its alterative and mildly purgative effect
upon tjie bowels, make it not only a good sub
stitute tor Mercury, but useful iu removing all
diseases arising from the imprudent use of
Mercury.'.
