Address to the young Man ofTe
cumsch-
UY . W. I.EWIS.
“How often bus my heart bled to son
the moral and physical destruction of
of intemperance among the young men
of our beloved country. Boasting of
their strength and vigor, they boldly
drink their poison, not regarding its
sure and awful consequences. Alas,
young man, couldsoe you this fatal veu
om diffusing itself through every drop
of your blood, the consequent increas
ing disease of your lungs and vital or
gans, the rapid approach of premature
trembling, death and misery, it does
seem to me that you would fore vet
dash from your lips the intoxicating
cup. O, yes, you would shun it as
von would the whirling vortex of sure
destruction. Its horrid images ol'deatli,
despair and delirium, would stare yen
iii ilii! lace and cause your souls lo
shudder. Think, then, young man, ol
the dread lul end to which the use of
intoxicating drinks may lead you—its
sure blight of your prospects of happi
ness, respectability and usefulness; the
pain and sorrow ot heart it causes your
parents, friends and all who love you,
your immortal souls and all that is dear
in time and eternity and taste not again,
l beseech you, any thing that can in
the least intoxicate. 1 his is the only
safe course, and may God in infinite
mercy lead you to see, and pursue it
“The aged inebriate may reform,
though this would almost a miracle,
hut his disease and trembling limbs can
never bo restored to s'length A- ‘ igor,
nor his shattered reason to its proper
use and enjoyment, lie must die a
pitiable victim of lolly and intem
perance.
Not so with you, young mar. Life
is still before you and the fell destroyer
has not inex'rioahly secured you in his
fascinating, but hellish coil, and you
mav yet break from his deceptive snares
and enchantments, cast him behind you
and live happy and useful in the world.
Listen then, young man, l entreat you.
before it shall be 100 late, to the warn
ing voico of reason, against the use of
all strong drinks. Listen 1 pray you,
to the admonitions of three worlds,
earth, heaven, and hell, against such a
self-destruction of both your souls and
bodies. \re they not \\ ritten in golden
letters, on the entire face of nature—on
the sun, moon, and every star that
twinkles in the constellation of celestial

read them in every flower and hrei /■

tion of pure joy, social virtue and do.
mestic love? Go, then, in the world
of endless despair and read them in (lie
terrible and impressive lessons, which
i will not attempt to describe. \ cs,
young man, all the joys of heaven all
that is pure and delightful on earth, no
less than indescribable agonies of eter

you to torever dash trom your lips the
accursed liquid lire, which has caused
so much sin and misery in the world,
eternally ruined so many precious and

W OULD call the attention of the public to
a number of certificates published in va
, rious papers in the State of cases of Fistula
I cured by him, lu the treatment of Fistula,
recourse is generally had to the knife, which is ;
1 always painful and often hazardous and very I
frequently unsuccesful.
More than one half of the cases that have !
come under his care of late, had been subjected
; to the knife without experiencing the least ben- 1
| efit, but rather made worse. They were per- !
fectly cured by Dr. M. without the use of the i
knife,or any such operation, without the least|
danger, and with but little or no pain, In most
cases the treatment does not prevent the ordi-1
nary pursuits of business, although the patient!
is necessarially obliged to be under the inane- i
mediate care and supervision of the Doctor!
from one to four weeks, according as the ns
ture and circumstances of the case may demand. I
( Dr, M. docs not exaggerate, when he says that j

succeed in ninety-nine cases out ofa hundred, i

DR. W. W. MARSHALL;—Dear Sir—
The great relief I have recently received at
your hands, induces me to offer my testimony
to t our successful treatment of Cancerous affec
tions.
Some ten years ago, a small lump,’ some
. thing like a wart, made its appearance in the!
1 centre of my lower lip, giving me at first no in
convenience or pain. After several years it 1
i began to grow. 1 then applied to a physician
who cut it ofFbelotv the surface of the lip and
burnt it with caustic, and 1 thought, cured it.
In a short time afterwards.it reappeared and
grew more rapidly than before; affecting with
in the lastsix months, the glandsof the neck,
and giving me occasionally considerable pain.
My physicians gave it as their opinion that it
was cancerous and that nothing could relieve’
me but the knife.
In this situation I put myself under your;
treatment, on the 10th September last, and to 1
day, l think I may safely say, that I am well
