Tlilh life is like :s gu-iiug stri it),
It swiftly passes Oil;
I)nily, hourly, change* Ihe scone.
As still it rolls along.
Tho sunlight in a changeful mood,
Alternate comes and goes :
At timm it bursts forth in a Hood,
And o’er the Inndeape glows.
Then dark shades, ns of night,
Spread gloom over tin* skir<,
And nothing remains of that light,
Ho cheering totlio eyes.
Thus it is life hath its gladness,
And also hath .ts drear ;
And thus oft couieth its sadness,
In the midst of its cheer.
Like the day, life hath its morning,
Os fresh roseate hue;
And u likowiso hath its evenings,
With many sorrows too.
Tis thus our lives rapidly pass
From change to change we go;
Wo mingle with the earth’s great mass,
And seen are soon no more.
But there’s a life of much uioro worth,
And richer pleasures given,—
It is th life beyond this earth,
Its pi ensures are in heaven.

Speak kindly to tho poor,
And let thy words boos tho kind,
To sooth and heal a troubled uiiml.
Speak toflly to the poor,
And never lot a cruel dnrt
Fierce deep nnd wound a sadden’d heart.
Speak freely lo the poor,
In trying to remove distress.
Thou wilt thyself he greatly blessed.
Speak gently to tho poor,
And let thy own heart feel his care,
And with him all his miseries share.
I’d rather have the approving smilo
Os once poor troubled breast,
Than have a prince’s golden star,
To glitter on my breast.

* V a number of certificates published in va- i
rious papers in the State of cases of Fistula 1
cured by him, In the treatment of Fistula, |
recourse is generally had to the knife, which is .
always painful and often hazardous and very ,
i frequently unsuccesful.
j More than one half of the cases that have
1 come under his care of late, had been subjected
i to the knife withoutexperiencing the least her- j
I efit, but rather made worse. They were per- j
| fectly cured by Dr. M. without the use ot the
knife,or any such operation, without the least
! danger, and with but little or no pain. In most
i cases the treatment does not prevent the ordi
nary pursuits of business, although the patient’
is necessarially obliged to he under the imme
! mediate care and supervision of the Doctor
Irom one to four weeks, according a3 the nn- 1
I litre and circumstances of the case may demand.
! Dr. M. does not exaggerate, when he sajs that
the plan of treatment he pursues is obliged to
succeed in ninety-nine cases out ofa hundred,!
! if not in every case ofFistula.

DR. W. W. MARSHALL;—Dear Sir—
The great relief I havp recently received at
your hands, induces me to offer my testimony
to vour successful treatment of Cancerous a flec
tions.
Some ten years ago, a small lump,’ some
thing like a wart, made its appearance in the
| centre of my lower lip, giving me at first no in
i convenience or pain. After several years it
i began to grow. 1 then applied to a physician
I who cut it offbelow the surface of the lip and
! burnt it with caustic, and l thought, cured it.
ina short time afterwards.it reappeared and
grew more rapidly than before; affecting with
in the last six months, the glands of the neck,
and giving me occasionally considerable pain.
My physicians gave ii as their opinion that it
was cancerous anil that nothing could relieve
me but the knife.
In this situation I put myself under your
! treatment, on the 10th September last, and to
day, 1 think I may safely say, that I am well
l trust that you will long live to afford relief to
the afflicted and distressed. With my warmest
thanks, for venr kindand constant attention
during my stay with you,
I am respectfully, vonrs,
and FLOYD.
Col Floyd is known to the emninunitv as me
brother ol Judge Floyd, and an .*min. m lawyer
