Griffin, July I'2th, 1806.
Personal. —Our sanctum lias the credit
-of having been illuminated, for a brief space,
withia tbe last fortnight, by a couple of our
worthv confreres of the p'-ess; to wit, the
Kev. W. J. Scott, of Scott’s Monthly, and
Captain Jno. 11. Whitffeld, of the Mont
gomery Mail. The latter-named gentle
man, it will be recollected, was, for several
years, a citizen of Griffin, and is favorably
remembered as a most excellent and worthy
gentleman.
1-9- We are again under obligations to
our ever-courteous friend of tbe Arcade, foi
somegrateful remembrancers in the shape of
a goodlv quantity of most delicious lever
age, —just such a beverage as he alone in
Ins primest moments knows how o get up.
Editors and printers have, of all persons,
Ihfe most exquisite and appreciative tastes'
for good things, and no one knows tics f:
better than our friend “I—or better
p ores that he know- it by his deeds.

The Child’s Delight. — For tbe July

are indebted to the considerate courtesy of
tbe energetic and accomplished editor.—
We not only love children, but we feel the

gone togieat trouble and expense in get

nursery and fireside, as well as for the Sab

public will not let so patriotic—(we mean
patriotic) — and otherwise worthy an enter
prise fail, or even barely live, for want of
remunerative support.
