A ‘‘ Convention of Liberal Physicians” is advertised to meet in Atlanta on the first of October. Those attending will be attended to hospi ably by Dr. J. W. Price, at the Bclleviou Hotel. Gun cotton is now made into ropes for storage, and kept under water. When an order is received at the manufactory, a few hours, suffice to send the cotton on its way. H has been found that by making the ropes with many air channels through tho mass, the cotton explodes almost instantaneously, and is as- violent in action as the strongest fulminates. A gentleman who has traveled extensively in the bust states that in Kgypt, where sun stroke is of frequent occurrence, the Arabs dissojve salt in water and pour it into the sufferer’s ears, thus speedily relieving him. The Millcdgeville I m'on says that a Yan kee school teacher, who, for a few weeks past, has been teaching the colored chfldren sn that city, and had succeeded in getting some advance payments, last week robbed the colored gem in an with whom he was stop ping, of his watch, pistol, and some other articles, and left for purls unknown. The Mexican Minister has received dis patches from Suarez, dated Chihuahua, July 28. Juarez declines the services of Santa Anna because he was one of the originators of the plan of foreign intervention in the af fairs of Mexico, and cannot be depended on, because the Mexican people have lost confi dence in him.
