Owing to ibe* Jim aging flood* bw*

general condition of Middle Georgie,
bat North end East Georgia have im
proved (somewhat, while Southwest
Georgia remain* tu a staodgtill, sod
the too * bear* tern counties have re

remarkable fact, however,’ says the
eommiefooner, “that tbe farmers in
Sooth west Georg.a and throughout
tbe wiregraaa portion of tbe State
generally hare for years past been m
better condition than those of tbe
remainder of tbe State The re
port also shows that farmers who
bare bought bacon and corn on
time have paid 30 per cent advance
on tbe cost prices for bacon for four
montbs.eqnivalent to 90 per cent per
annam, or 7j per cent per month,
and 36 per cent tor corn, cqaal to
108 per cent per annum, or 9 per

aaya that these figures have been
published for ten years past, and yet

The improvement in this respect,
tbongb small, is gratifying, and
jostifiee the hope that it will be macb
more marked in tbe near futare.
Tbe farmers will get farther and
farther away from the credit system
by giving more attention to the
production of each sapplies as they
can produce at home. The credit
system keeps them p-*or.
Miss Margaret Dodd, of New
York, went to the office of Dr. Ferdi
nacd Essbronck. a dentist of that
city, and bad two teeth extracted.
After her recovery from the opera
tion, she found that when chewing
her food, her jaws clicked at every
motion and caused intense pain.
Time passed, bat the click of Miss
Dacn’s jaws persistently remained
with her. She brought suit against
the dentist, and as sbe testified in
the court, her jaws merrily clicked
an accompaniment. Tbe jnry ap
peared eympitbie, end matters look

lawyers, however, palled themselves
togethei and qaoted musty old meoi

ed the unroiuantic jury to find for
the defen deni. Miss Dunn need not
be wholly disconsolate There re

COPYRIGHTED RAD ILLUSTRATED,
This paper will shortly begin the publication f a Serial Story with the above title, aud
of intense interest. Each chapter is alive with excitement and the plot moves on with a
power and spirit which will, we believe, make this one of the most acceptable serials we have
ever offered in these columns.
THE BRETON MILLS
Is a story that will satisfy the popular demand for intense interest in each installment. The
scene is laid in a New England factory village. Both the employing class and the class of
the employed furnish actors in the thrilling romance, and the reader's interest will be closely
held all through the changing scenes of the stoiy. While not taking sides on the questions
interesting working people, which are touched upon in the story, the author dissedts the pa¬
thetic elements of the life of the poor with fearless hand. Still his romance, after all, is a
romance of love, and all else in the story is only introduced to solve the problem of one
man’s devoted and faithful nature.
