The funeral of Mr. -Jobe J White , yesterday morning from the residence of Lis mother. Mrs, H B Waite, on Popiir street, et J0:30 o’clock, and was largely attended. Mr. John J. White was born Sep*. 7th, I >45, in Virginia, and was special courier to General Robert E. Lee during most of the war, attend ,n J? b ' m 1,0 fflOSl v{ ine b ‘ l tie# until old enough to enlisr, which was cot until the close of the war. Just after the close of the war be moved to Albany. Ga., where be was engaged in the cotton business. Oo January 7tb,1869, he was married to Miss Dora Hutchinson.of Louisville. Ky.. by whom he leaves two daugh ters. Shortly after moving to Albany he moved to St. Louis, where he be came a prominent member of the St. Louis Grain and Cotton F.x change. He came South just one jHir ago for his health, and then went io New Mexico for the same purpose. From there te proceeded to Ei Paso, Texas, and after two weeks died on Feb 7tb, 1888, and was buried here on Feb- 14th. Mr. J. J. White wss born on the 7tb of the month, baptized on the 7th, mar ried on the 7th and died on the 7th. To his relatives we wish all the consolation that religion and philvso phy may give. Starle!
