When nesring a hidden illicit still, Mr. Jioogber's gullet might give unmistakable signs that would be very important to the Gov •rnmcrit official#. The cotton crop now moving has been estimated by the Department of Agriculture at 0,<100,000 bales, but Februrary 17 there had been already counted only 204,103 bale# less than that amount. From Februrary 17 to the end of the cotton year on August 31 there have been received and counted the following quantities in the last three years: 1880 «, i <3, 370 bales; 1883 0, 975,582 bales; 1884 5,502,949 bales. The treasury officials have furnish cd the Georgia delegation in Con gress with a list of all the officers and employees who are accredited to this Slate. They number forty three in all, and from the Washington corres¬ pondent of the Atlanta Constitution we learn that the Savannah district and lb© Atlanta district have each eleven appointees. Ten of the elev eu appointees from the Atlanta dis trict are from Fulton county. Mr. E. F. Out of these forty-three employees quite a number are Repub licans. The majority faom the first district are Republicans, but the fifth presents only one or two as her quota. Among the colored employees are two noted names, Del.amata, of h ul ton, and Dcveaux, of Bibb. They figured once in the palmy days of re construction in Georgia.
