WEEKLY— Bam* rate*as for the Tba aged Mr. Darlington, of Penn nrlvania, says : ‘ A Congressman imonnti to very littlo in lbi$ coon try.” Mr. Darlington evidently does not know about the importance of of aeed distribution and the dissemi nation of Patent Office Reports* J. H. Bates, tbe New York adver¬ tising agent, announces that on the first of neat month he will move in¬ tomore spacious and commodious quarters in 38 Park Itow. Mr. Hates is one of tbe very few perfectly safe and reliable advertising agentain the United Stales, always filling his con¬ tracts with both advertisers and news¬ papers without quibble or delay. In a si* years constant business connec¬ tion not a single point of difference has arisen between him and the News, and it affords us great pleasure to witneaa his large and growing business and increasing prosperity* The Savannah News says: “Op- poaition to Congressman Stewart, of the Fifth district, seems to b*ve sud¬ denly developed. Ex-Gov. McDaniel ia apoken of as a probable candidate. No doubt, however, Congressman Stewart will be returned. He has made a very good member, and if es-Congressoian Hammond is to be kept on the shelf, there is no very atrong reason for making a change.” A race between Stewart and Me Daniel might be amusing if the latter were not to painfully slow. Stowart would gotall over the district before McDaniel g-g-got a f-fair s-st- atart. Among the numerous fallacies which still linger in tbo world to im pair men’s mental vision and distort their conduct, perhaps not ono is more miachievoua than the supposi tion that all men of capacity and force nmst have enemies. Not only ia it not true that a man who has iu ourred no enmities is not. a strong § or an able man. but there is no rea son wby a man of the completest character should net bold the whole world in affection. Owing to the frailty, weakness and tbe itnperfec tion of bumap nature and growing oat of tbe innumerable coiuplien lions which every man’s aotiooB give rite to, a share of bitterness, tnisun deretand and strifo comes unfortu nately across all our paths. But this is due not to our sticnglb bat feebleness. These reflections aro suggested by a paragraph in a Ken tacky paper as follows: “If tbe editor of this paper has an enemy in the world, it is of that ene —’a own seeking. There is not an liyldual on top of God’s green .wth that be has sufficient auimosi ty hgainst to do tbo slightest injury. Or on* whom he is not ready and illing recoocifiatWD. Yomeet more than half way It is against Ins aatnre to bear malice, and he cannot go ’agio natnr.’ ” And yet tbit man. it is saitl, is a bravo, staunch gentleman, quick to act under provocation, fearless iu os aertiog his right and amply able to do it. Bat the utterance above indi cates a moral courage higher than these other qualities, and if tLe spir it reflected there permeated and con (foiled the conduct of more men than it does society would be whole •omet, sweeter and better Am Imperative NeeessHv. I will answer any inquiry from others In relation to the fact* herewith stated. In February last I suffered great pain and Inconvenience from bolls, all over my neck; I could not turn my head without acute pain and my blood was In poor condition. After trying all the usual remedies In »uch cases, and finding no relief, by the persuasion of Mr. J. W. Fears, Manager of your New York Office, I used one bottle S. S. Tbe counties of Houston, Dougher Bibb, Monroe, Morgan, Oglethorpe, Tfcoroas and Decatur- all largo counties, with populations a* intelligent and well informed na any m the slate—have so far chosen dclcgvrs *o the democratic stale on rentiou and given expression to their views of the administration of^I’resi- der.t Cleveland, hss tariff message, and the proper mode of reducit g tlx* excessive revenue. All, without exception, fully sustain the policy of the message and call for » reduction of the high tariff on the necessaries of life. Moat of them also instruct their delegates to the state conven tion not to vote for any man as a del egato to (he national convention who is not fully in accord with views and wishes as thus expressed. In only t«* of these counties, so far as we are informed, was any opposition made to the resolutions adopted in regard to the manner of 'educing the reve nue, and in both these instances the opposition was so feebly supported as only to give more emphasis to the sentiment and purposes of the meet ings. In regard to the support of President Cleveland for re-election there was no opposition. This unbroken series of comity meetings, all speaking one voice and one resolution, ought certainly to lie regarded as establishing our oft re¬ peated atsertion that there in no considerable difference of opinion among the democrats of Gcorg a in teeir support of the policy oi Presi¬ dent Cleveland and ibe democrats in congress. The democrats of the state are substantially a unit on tbe great issue of the day, and when the roll call of the counties is completed it will De found that there is little, if any, more division than has already been inainifested. It remained for a Mississippi negro to arise in his seat in a republican state convention at Jackson an j move to have stricken from the reso lutions the word “dishonest” charged on the democratic state government by the resoluting committee. The Hon. Hall, that was his name, said he didn’t believe that the state gov¬ ernment of Mississippi was dishonest. The motion prevailed. An Eastern writer declares that it is uot unlawful for a man, if ho wish ea. to make a pavement of coiD. But no pavement contracts of this sort will bo lot.
