A coroner’s inquest was held on yesterday, at which the following tes uroony, in brief, was elicited: The deceased was seen on Monday morn ing coming from McDonough to Griffin Hi company with a much larger negio, with whom he seems to have beer ‘ relling. About ten o’clock a . port was heard in the neighborhood of where the body was found, and the large ne¬ gro, in his long tailed coat was seen hurrying from the scene toward Griffin. If it is not built, it will not be his fault. Col. S. C. McBaDiel and wife, of Griffin, aro visiting McDonough. Capt. H. H. Kelly has issued a call for all the surviving members of the Henry County Guards, Co. G,, to meet in McD nough on the first Tuesday in May to arrange some plan for the reun ion of the 19 h Ga. regiment of voluu teers. This was certainly a gallant company and fought fonr years for the confederacy. James Sims, aged 25. was adjudged a lunatic before (he Ordinary on Tues day last. There are now 71 paupers at the Hen ry county farm, and it is estimated that they cost the couuty fully 81,(500. Our efficient grand jury found true bills against several of “tha boys” last week lor running “blind tigers,” in Henry county, thereby injuring Grif tin's trade. A few have left for parts unknown. Hampton is having public meetings to suppress the traffic. They field a meeting at tbe Methodist church last Sunday night, with Hon Jno. Mor ri8 chairman, and Arnold Maxwell, sec retary.
