Okchabk Sill, May 16.— The weather is coo! for the season. The thermometer registered last night at 50 degrees and there was some fro9t this morning in low places though not enough to do any serious datnoge. We have had some nice showers during the past week, which will be a great benefit to the crops. A great deal of the cotton was not up owing to the previous dry weath or, but now it is pushing up the ground and in a day or two there will be excellent stands. Some are chopping now, while others "are pre paring to commence the great battle with General Green, which muat be kept up until the last enemy to the great kiDg of crops is conquered. As a general thiDg farmers are pretty well up with work and with the aid of sufficient rains will soon have their crops in Bplendid condition. There was an ice cream festival yesterday evening at the Methodist conrcb, which was well attended, especially by the yoaug people, who had a pleasant time Abont sixteen dollars was taken ip.
