Ice Everywhere Until the Blood Freezes in One s Veins- There it nothing truer than that one’s aotual condition is largely due to imagi¬ nation* How pleasant then Is it iu tutniaer to read of frozen and immense desolations of noth- ing but ice and snow, with page after page of absorbing narrative and description that makes delicious cold shivers creep over one in the hottest weather. All this is thoroughly accomplished by “Ice Bound,” W. Clark Bussell's best story, where pirates frozen for fifty years come to life to amuse a summer holiday and then freeze again. The blood runs cold through the readers veins as he reads, and a ther¬ mometer placed between the pages forces the mercury down ten decrees to the page. It a better scheme than Hi Kimball’s steam pipe refrigerators and cooler than the claims of the Republican party to the possession of honesty and patriotism. If yon want to be cool and he absotbiogly interested at the same time, do not fail to read “Ics Bound.” It will carry you tolhc South Foie, the ics at the North Pole hav¬ ing been somewhat used up by explorers.
