TWO BLAINES »0 TALK. Aoth of the Jau.es G.’s Will Take the Slump For Protection. New Yobk, July 27.—(Special.)— There will be two James G Blaines on the stump, but not until autumn. J G. Blaine, Jr. is spending July at Soabright. He, Baid to your corres pondent: “Father will make several speeches soon after his return from Europe, probably, but he will not go into tho campaign until Setember. YVe expect that he will put in tw o months hard work for Harrison and Morton”’ What will be his ora torical specialty? 4 “Protection. That is tho issue you know and be will de vote himself to it,’’ Being asked if the rnmor was true that he was go ing to the slump, young Mr. Blaine replied: ‘:Yes I expect to make some speeches—as many of. our people deem desirable. Tho programme is not yet boen made out defintely but I anticipate that father will spesk in tho cities of N. Y., Conhecicut New Jersey and Indianna—siy for ty speeches in September and Oc tober. Can he stand it? Yes His health is good, no matter about all that lias been said to the contrary, My own apperances on the stump will be of comparatively small ac count, of course, and I am willing to go wherever the Campaign Commit tee dictates. I shall talk tariff, too and it is hardly necessary to add that my fathers views are mine.” • Much is to made of the arrival of Blaine. His personal friends will give to him a booming reception aud the Republican Committee has decided to co operate. The question was rai sed whether a great public welcome to the man whom tho party did not nominate would hurt rather than help HarrisoD, but Chairman Quay said, when asked about it: “O hurrah for Blame! He deserves it and he will get it.“ There will be an aquatic procession down the bay with flags flying, bands playing and cannon booming. Bat no cannon will pe fired in city limits ashore Mayor Hewitt is determined upon that point. refused permit the firing “I to of salutes for the nomination of Cleveland and again forbade it for Harrison,” tho Mayor said, “and the ordinance against ordinance, so to speak, is going to be enforced right through this campaign. TLe law agnist cannonading for noise is good, and politics should not nullify it. The boys may shout, but they can’t explode gunpowder in this town.” Its superior excellence proven in millions of homos for more than a quarter of a cen tury.
