Scheuerman & White. said, had just returned from & to the island of Cuba, and having encountered a severe storm sea, in which his yacht had been badly worsted, had put into tbe har boi at New Orleans, and leaving the yacht there for repairs, had come to Atlanta to pass away the time with friends. Tho result of this announce ment was the aristocracy of the Gate City .mmediately pounced u£cn Georgie and began to entertain him in elegant style. This cordial wel c ;me at their hands completely over whelmed Georgie, as he was unpre pared for such hospitable troatmen*, and told them that on account of his family not knowing of his where about s he had failed to receive mon ey from home—would* in a few days, as soon as they received the tele¬ grams ho had recently sent. Of course this was a trivial matter to the wealthy Atlantians, and their purses were opened and he was soon lolling in the lap of luxury at their expense. He failed to get answers from his telegrams, however, and they begun to grow suspicious of him. His requests for loans became too frequent and were firmly but po litely refused. Finally his newly found friends began to desert him, and be resorted to other means to obtain money in order to keep up appearances. He defrauded a butch er out of $50 after representing him self to be the advance agent of Buf falo Bill. It was not long after this that he skipped the city and left a large beard bill at the Kimball House. At last come the tidings from Au gnsta that they have him in limbo there. He tried ihe same racket there but the people of that city did not prove as gullible as those of At lanta. He will be brought back to Atlanta for trial.
