Mr. Connell lias made an efficient sheriff during his time of office, and bas always bean prompt and accommodating in the performance of bis duty, and will be a bard man to beat. A bill will be introduced in the next general assembly to make more broad the city limits of Flovilla. Jackson will endeavor to have a bill passed authorizing the Mayor and councilmen to levy a tax for school purposes. The County Judge of Butts coun ty will ask the next general assembly to allow bitn to go in debt to the amount of §10,000 for the purpose of building a county jail. There will be a bill introduced from Butts county in the next Legis lature regulating the , commissions of , the county officers. What’s the use of that when the Code of 1882 has settled that question? The people of Butts will petition the legislature to pass a bill similar to Henry county’s seed cotton bill for them ; that is, that no seed cotton shall he sold between the 15th of Au gust and the loth Ol December.
