Tho convention mot at 7 p. tn. on Wednesday evening atul after the choir and congregation had charmed the audience with their sweet music, Air. A. T. Thomas, of Atlanta, made tho annual address of thecouvention. It was perhaps tho master effort of his ministry His remarks at the outset wore very touching indeed. Ho joined the Christian church at this place 35 years ago, and com menced his ministry here. After his allusions to the matter, he read a portion of scripture, which he eeom od to uso ns seed to sow as a fonnda lion foi his remarks. Wo shall not attempt to follow his sermon, but simply say it was or.e of the strong est missionary sermons we ever heard. His unanswerable strong point was, how can a man believe in Him of whom he has new r heard and how can ho bear without a preacher, and how can lie preach without ho be sent.
