WIDE-AWAKE DEMOCRATS !
THEY PROPOSE TO SEE THAT SPAL¬
DING GOES ALL RIGHT.
Meeting of Ihe Executive Committee-
M re Committeemen Appoint¬
ed and an Address Issued.
In pursuance of call, the following
following to tin hi ts of tho Demo
cratic Executive Committee of Bpal
ding county met in Stewart & Dan
iel’s office yestorri ,y morning ; J.
11. Mula it, Chairman ; J. H. Nutt,
J. H. Shackelford, W. H. Hudson,
Joshua Hammond, it. ii. Johnston,
T. J. Brooks, W. J. Bridges,! .Clove
land, W. H. Touchstone. Owing to
the short notice and Imd weather,
other committeemen were not able
to be present.
Judge Stewart was present and
addressed the meeting briefly, and
stated that he knew it to bo the pur j
pose of the Republican parly to
bring out a full vote iu this State in
order to diminish the Democratic
majority with the object of laying
this result to the Mills bill, as well
as to run in cougiessional candidaUs
wherever possible. The Republican
congressional committee has a fund
of $ 000 ,000 to spend to obtain eon
trol of the lower house. Iu this dis
triet he bad personal and accurate
knowledge that they wire making
every effort to get out a full vole,
aud was acquainted with their plans
of organization in Henry, Fayette
Clayton and Spalding, and he in
formed the committee of the main
details of the Republican campaign.
Tuere would be no difficulty, howev
er, if the white people would turn
out, and ho suggested the appoint
mom of a committee to draft an up
peal to the people to turn out to the
polls on the Gth of November. The
Democratic party of this county
must stand solid against all off i ts
of tho negroes to obtain control.
Capt. Brooks spoke briefly and
vigorously on the necessity of stand
ing together.
L. Cleveland, J. D. Stewart aud
D. Glessner were appointed a com
mitteo on address.
At the suggestion of W. B. Hud
sou the chairman appointed two ad
ditiotial committeemen in each dis
triet to get Iho votes out and be at
the polls en election day.
The chairman stated that tie had
received a circular from Chairman
Barnum, of the national committee,
asking for subscriptions for tho na
tional campaign. The members pres
I ent subscribed ten dollars, and oth
ers desiring to contribute should
scud the money to J, H. Malaier,
at Sunny Bide, Ga,
Tho meeting then adjourned.
The following is tho appeal, with
the list of committeemen ;
CLEVELAND, THURMAN AND
BTEWART !
AN I!AIIXE8T APPEAL TO THE DEMOCRATIC
VOTEItS OF SPALDING COUNTY.
At a meeting of the Democratic Kx-
ecutive Committee held in Griffiii on the
25th day of October it was resolved :
That every Democratic voter in aid
county be urged to attend the election
for President, Vice President and Re¬
presentative in congress, to lie held on
Tuesday tlie sixth day of November
next, and to cast bis ballot for the Demo
cratic None nee.
In order to maintain Democratic prin¬
ciples, preserve the rights of the'poople
and protect ourselves from Republican
misrule, it is necessary for every Demo¬
cratic voter to do Ids duty, not only i*i
casting hisoun ballot, but in urging Ids
friends and neighbors to go to the
poll-.
There is no doubt hut what the Re¬
publicans are ivell organized in this
county and district, and the Exteutive
Committee feel that it becomes them to
make tin- appeal.
We are informed on good authority
that colored republicans, paid emissaries
of the Republican candidates are organ¬
izing Harrison and Mor.on dubs iu
every county in this congressional dis¬
trict.
We have therefore appointed the fol¬
lowing committees i,i each district in
Spalding County, whose duty it will lie
to see that every Democratic voter in
their district goes to the polls, and to
attend the polls themselves to sec to it
that the election is fairly and legally con
ducted;

Note—T he above Diagram illustrates the comparative worth of various Baking
Powders, as shown by Chemical Analysis and experiments made by Prof. Schedlcr.
A pound can of each powder was taken, the total leavening power or volume tn
each can calculated, the result being as indicated. This practical test for worthby
Prof. Schedlcr only proves what every observant consumer of the Royal Baking
Powder knows by practical experience, that, while it costs a few cents per pound
more than ordinary kinds, it is far more economical, and, besides, affords the advan¬
tage of better work. A single trial of the Royal Baking Powder will convince any
fair-minded person of tlicsc facts.
